yeah, this game really is (length of movie scenes)+X, whereas X=gameplay. One could also assume that as X approaches 0, this run will simultaneously become more amazing and yet more boring as more and more of it consists of movies that can't be sped up any more.

How do you do the Gannon trials skip with light arrows on B? You won't be able to jump slash through the wall, right?

Anything you can carry that will allow a slash (like a Deku stick) is viable.

This question has already been answered and no Zurreco's explantation is wrong, there is in fact four ways in which the trials skip can be done with a jump slash.

Care to explain how a jump attack with the deku stick is different than a jump attack with the sword? There will always be an angle where the stick won't collide with the wall and still put you in the critical angle, so I can't think of any reason why deku sticks aren't viable. e: Either my browser at work sucks, or the term 'trial' comes up about twice in the last ~30 pages of this thread.

Deku sticks can only be used as Young Link, in Ganons tower there will be no sword or even an Item thats capable of jumpslash. Megaton: Takes waaaaaaayyy to long to get Big Goron or Brocken sword: Is assigned to B So to conclude there is no item that can do a jump slashing motion.

The hover method can't be used it requires a sword. I forgot to mention that its three methods can be used to enter Ganon's tower, the fourth is the hover but that requires a sword.

Ya, I thought you could just do a super slide + hover boots right to the door you want to go through. What are the other two ways?

Did anyone figure out those gaurds yet? I think the leading theory is that you need night to turn to day to make them go away. So if this is true when would be the best time to go to the castle?

Yeah, if I remember correctly, the guards are always there at night time but I'm not sure if that's the case here. (I don't feel like digging through this thread) What I think I read in this thread was that the guards were there regardless if it were day or night because certain events were done before visiting Zelda.

Well, dealing with this piece of desynch. I dont know what to do anymore. I have literally got past the owl 5 times and everytime I play back the movie, the god damn son of a bitch flies a different direction. I have jumped over the gate 3 times to come to realize that I have to go back and see if that owl wants to fly the right way. I might be throwing this away because of desynch issues. If this game doesnt get thrown out, to answer the time question. I am saying that this game will be done in sub 1 hour 55 minutes :) That means, skipping at least 6-8 cutscenes that last 30 seconds to a couple of minutes. skipping the 2 temples I went to last time. Its all science.
I really hope you don't give up. :) In the mean time, while we are all waiting for Guano to do this TAS, my rejected OoT run may keep you guys entertained. http://speeddemosarchive.com/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=consoles_older;action=display;num=1163965351;start=0 I'm sure some of you know about it by now, but I'm just posting it for those who don't. It got rejected because of the Skulltula Vine Glitch in the Deku Tree. I have yet to officially time it but the unofficial time is 2:33:07.
why would it get rejected because you used a "boundry glitch" um... and why do we have no sword at this point in the game.. im missing somthing...

because SDA doesn't like boundray violations, and TASers don't care about them. and no sword because light arrows are on b, did you not read about bottle adventure?

still desynch's. Only happens at places like the owl or grabbing the chicken. Kinda sucks.

That's funny, that's where it desynced for me. Because I was unable use the gln64 plugin after I loaded the movie file, I was forced to use Rice's plugin which worked until those desyncing points. I know this wouldn't be fair for others but why don't you go back to using Jabo's plugin? It seemed the desyncs were much more managable than currently gln64. Sure a few people probably won't be able to view your progress unless someone makes AVI's or MKV's but is it really worth it to strain yourself to please a few people? Sorry if I offend anyone with this post.

There are literally hundreds of those small, useless, miscellaneous OoT tricks, so I see no need to start posting them here unless they're useful in the TAS.

There is this thread for that kind of things.
