He probably figured that much out, but maybe was wondering how he could have done that. Last I heard, storing a ground jump skips that owl. Then again, crazy Zurreco might just be remembering the wrong stuff again.

how would you store a ground jump between the kokiri forest exit and the owl?

Fuck if I know. I remember someone talking about storing one to skip an owl at SDA. Like I said, I'm probably confusing it with something.

Alternate between a dekustick and the slingshot while running to skip the owl. Xebra discovered it and he even posted a video of it back in this topic.

Yeah, I'd have the vid ready but in dodongo's cavern, in the first room, the first angle seems ok (maybe not), but the second one has him running too much against the wall, so instead of turning around and grabbing the ladder, link just turns around and runs back into the lava and then randomly fires bombchus and dies.

Can someone help me? I saw that Guanos WIP includes a .st1 and .m64.. St1 is save state, and .m64 is the movie. But how can i watch from the save state?

First, load Mupen and the RoM. Open up the movie. Now, go to Utilities>Movie>Toggle Read-Only. Then go to Run>Load As and find the savestate file. It should now play from the savestate.

Someone on SDA is actually attempting a 100% Single Segment Speed Run. I still think a 100% TAS would be highly entertaining. I can hardly wait until both 100% runs are done on SDA.

That depends on how you define 100%. IMO, getting all 100 skulltullas in the game is very boring. Getting 50, however (for the last real upgrade) could be entertaining. Either way, route planning for a tas would be a bitch.

Yeah, yeah. All I ever hear is people GRIPING about the 100 Skulltulas. Sure, it'd be boring to watch someone using some damn glitch for them. And if you define 100%, it means collecting every item, aside from all of the Rupees and such trivial stuff. Why is it people ask what 100% means, when it's so easy to answer it on their own?

1) Skulltullas: You see, skulltullas are collectable. Once you collect the tokens, they don't come back. But the prize for 100 skulltullas is worthless, and is not even a collectable item. So what is 100%? All skulltulla tokens? Half of them? 2) Dungoun maps and compasses: In dungeons you also have other collectable items that you don't need. You have the dungeon map, and compass. Collecting those could hinder A LOT of potential interesting 100% sequences breaks. Should those be collected, if they make the game arguably more boring? 3) Small Keys In dungeons, there are a few cases where keys can be skipped due to sequence breaks. Should they be collected, as they are defined as "collectable items" and do not respawn anywhere? Defining what is 100% is less trivial than you think.

To me, 100% has ALWAYS meant collecting every item. That is my definition.

Even masks? God that would be boring. I'm in favor of a more reasonable 100% however. Medallions, skulltulas, upgrades, Biggoron, spells etc.
What's a man like me supposed to do with all this extra savoir-faire?

Including extra heart pieces, ones that shouldn't be in the game? For example in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qM8FoR6uot4 Kazooie has overflowed the heart counter. Should we get those too?

Concerning final movie time...why does 1:38 spring to my mind? Also, whenever you submit a WIP, could you restate your specs for playback so lazy assholes like me don't have to scroll all the way back in the forum? *runs*

Could everyone stop bringing up the 100% topic, no one has ever remotley shown any interest and I beleve that the current runner has enough frustration playing the game at any% level due to the desync level. If people were having a hard enough time tcoming to an agreement over B+K then why should we expect even remotley any agreement, personally I think link should touch every pixel in every area and then we can all go home happy.

So what's happening with skipping the first owl? Is that going to be added?

Can we hex edit the owl scene? Like from entering Hyrule to entering Guerdo. Nothing from Hyrule to Guerdo is used (Deku Sticks, Slingshot) so that the game will still have the same amount in inventory. This will save a good 20 seconds from the owl talking. If we can hex edit, it would have to be when I am finished with the entire run, correct? Also, my run works perfect entirely through and I have tested it several times fully through, but I guess it desynchs at the next owl text by the Castle. Ill re-submit my run and see if you can view it. http://download.yousendit.com/5C2E9554228D8405 Hopefully this works.

I know you wont like hearing this but the probability of being successful hex-editing that part is like saying Atma will be done with his Minish Cap run before this summer. Do you have the strength to redo that part? :(
