Yeah Guano, use that jumpslash method. When I did it with a roll I did it on Project64 back when I was an emulator noob, and I'm fairly suspicious that I might have used a debug rom or I possibly had some tilting cheat on, since I can't for the love of god pull it of again. :-/

Guano, have you sorted out that desync at the start of DC, since me and several other reported that, if you want to do the owl skip in HF, then I'd advise that you do it now and I can hex eidt in the rest, but there is a good chance that random dungeon factors might cause a desync. Just to clear it up before anyone posts about why we're getting the bottle, its needed for 2 reasons. 1 for the Bottle adventure since we want it on the B button and 2 becuase its needed to deflect Ganondorfs thunderbolt adn note that the bottle in Lake Hylia can't be used until you show the contents to King Zora (which BTW was confirmed to be his name in Z:TP) . Again for DC the stuff after can be edited in, BTW did you manage to reach Zelda in time.

No desync here, although the savestate you provided does not work correctly so it will if you use that to view it.
And since it was encoded, I assume the desync issue is gone. However, one should try to hex edit the owl. It's either now, or never.

I would hex edit in, but I have no input to work with.

Yeah, I did. And with a good 10 seconds left too :) The stick/slingshot is a lot faster than storing a groundjump. So for skipping the owl at LH to get the magic bean, Ill just use that method. As for the owl in Hyrule Field after Deku Tree. Its not a big deal to me. If we can edit when I am done with the game, that would be the best option for me because this game is a pain in the ass with desynch. I have to redo the castle jumping because it desynch'd by a hair sidehopping past the guards which I can say is pretty funny because they look right at you while you sidehop. Must be my magic cloak? Ill take out the Edit space in my last post and just post the WIP on my next one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajiaLQP4gMU Acryte does his King Zora skip in 6 bombs. However. It looks like it can be done in 5. Dont worry about desynch's. If it works fine on mine. Then it should work fine for an encoder. The savestates are what f it up now it seems like.

well the reason we're suggesting hex editing the first owl out now is because the longer we wait, the more likely it is that it will cause a desync. so either it should be gotten over with now or just forgotten :/

Okay. This is getting weird. Save states are not good for playback....sorry... http://download.yousendit.com/1524F8594384A685 The frame where it starts is around 135000. I'm not too sure. Enjoy. The 1st owl desynch is not a problem anymore for me. I can playback the run just fine. However. It seems to desynch more and more now. Ill just have to work by it :)

Syncs up, once again, perfectly from begining to end and even with a save state I've created so I'm not sure why your save states are not working well with playing back. It's looking very promising so far even with the certain changes of plans from the route choice so keep it up the way you're doing it.

Yep, I can confirm that there are no desyncs. Fantastic WIP so far. I haven't watched it in a while, and I must say your Dodongo's Cavern and Hyrule field bomb super sliding were extremely impressive. Keep up the good work.

Sweet. Thank you for the comments. I think I will be going to the ToT at 1 hour and 15 minutes. That leaves 45 minutes (my goal; under 2 hours) to get done with the game. I think I am at 51 minutes and 10 seconds entering Zoras River. These are my estimates: -----Entering Zoras Domain a little after 53 minutes(It took Acryte 55 seconds with some mistakes) and I need to buy a magic bean. -----Entering JabuJabu at 55 minutes. Should I get the fish before or after Jabu? I think I have a strategy for not having to get the Silver Scale to get to Lake Hylia. This will be revealed if I can pull it off. If it can be pulled off, Ill get the fish before Jabu. -----Jabu can be pulled off possibly 5 seconds faster than my previous run if a time saving strategy can be found. Jabu and the cutscene should be done in 10 minutes. That gives a time of 1 hour and 5 minutes -----To get to Lake Hylia requires a Silver Scale from Zoras Domain. This however I hope can be skipped so HOPEFULLY I can get out to the Lake in 1 minute after the cutscene. 1 Hour and 6 minutes. -----At Lake Hylia, plant the bean and get to the owl ASAP to ride in front of the Castle. This should initiate the cutscene for Ganon. 1 Hour and 8 minutes. -----After the cutscene which takes not much time, Ill grab the Ocarina and get to the ToT. If no scale is grabbed for diving, can I reach the Ocarina in the moat? After all the cutscenes and bottle adventure tricks, I should be at 1 hour and 15 minutes. These are vague estimates and should not be taken seriously. Hopefully, my estimate is too high and it is possibly lower in time. Also, Im going to re-do my Hyrule Field part after Zelda encounter and get a superslide there. I am hopefully waiting for an enemy to drop bombs and 1 heart piece. Good night.

I agree that that was great work. I especially liked the bomb throw off the guard tower. No desyncs so I'll make an avi tonight. or tomorrow. The moat is shallow enough that no scales are needed to collect the ocarina, I believe.

Haven't played back the wip, but I'm quite certain you don't need any upgrades for the oot dive. You take the owl and initiate the ganondorf cutscene? I wonder if it will start immediately? If it doesn't, what happens if you superslide into the cutscene? If possible, please play up to the hyrule field, and skip the owl, and then sync up your position with the old run. Then AKA can try hex editing the parts together. I'm not optimistic that this part is hex-editable, due to the time issue. Time is spent when you watch the owl fly away, and this could randomize other parts of the run.

Forgot to mention in my last post. I need to die and savewarp after planting the bean to get to KF -> LW -> GC -> DM -> GF. After fairy, take the owl down to KV and get to the Castle as fast as I can. Wow, thats a lot of abbreviations.

Yeah it synced correctly for me, nice job. I liked the first superslide in Death Mountain. BTW, why couldn't you superslide after Impa, since there is grass at the start of Zora's river so there is a good manipulation opertunity for bomb drops. For the owl skip its probally best to lay a bomb for a ground jump and then toss one to blow the boulders. Wouldn't a deku stick sword swap work when skipping the owl, which might make preparing a ground jump pointless. Here's the general strategy for the river http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4x-VlLn6qM Do this except with backwalking. Acryte has soom good videos of it as well.

Why didn't you do that bomb super slide thing after the zelda cutscene (up to the river)? If it's about saving bombs, then wouldn't it be better to use less bombs at the path to the castle?

The only two things that bothered me in the latest WIP are 1. No superslide when exiting Kakariko Village (at 3'01"). It takes four seconds to set up a superslide, and that was an eight-second backwalk. 2. No superslide on the way to Zora's River As AKA said, there are plenty of bombs in the grass at the beginning of the Zora's River area.

I forgot about sliding in KV, however I did correct the way to Zoras River. I managed to cut 2 bushes and got 10 bombs! But it looks like I am going to have to get the silver scale to get to the Lake from Zoras Domain. That is not what I wanted to do but oh well :( If someon can find a glitch to get to the exit in the water, please find asap because this is crucial. Im going to playback the run for any desynchs during Zoras River.

There is a way round that, there is 3 options 1. Go to Jabu complete, use death warp and then go to Lake Hylia via Hyrule and use owl to get to castle 2. Go straight to Lake Hylia after Zelda conversation, there is plenty of grass there to manipulate bombs. You can go to the scarecrow and learn the scarecrow song and then use the house glitch to get back to Zora's Domain. 3. Don't bother with the bean or the scarecrow, simply bomb hover as an Adult when the time comes to steal the rod. Bombs can be replenished afterwards by blowing up the grass with bombs.

You could just skip that part for now and hex-edit it in later. I'm sure it will work!

What about Great Fairy at Death Mountain? Is it still confirmed that you need to visit her?
2. Go straight to Lake Hylia after Zelda conversation, there is plenty of grass there to manipulate bombs. You can go to the scarecrow and learn the scarecrow song and then use the house glitch to get back to Zora's Domain.
What house glitch? Why would I want to learn the scarecrows song? What about buying a magic bean?

How many bombs does it take? I want to get this run in under 2 hours. I think it is very possible. I have 2 ideas: 1. Finish Jabu and manipulate 10 rupees(since buying beans cost 10). Get fish in bottle after getting the silver scale (requires 20 rupees) to get to the Lake (takes ~ 1 1/2 minutes with conversation). Get to the Lake. Plant bean and die. Be at Links house. Go to Lost Woods. Go to Death Mountain from Goron City. Go to Great Fairy.(Climbing the entire mountain isnt necessary because I have bombs) Take owl to KV, exit and proceed to Ganon cutscene. 2. Dont get magic beans. Get fish. Finish Jabu. Die/Save. Go to Great Fairy(mentioned above). Take owl to KV. Get cucco to get to bottom of well for 10 bombchus(this idea is for hovering over the lake by sidehopping. Ill have 12 and I can use 11, I think. Maybe just 10.) Then proceed to Ganon cutscene. Do these sound like better ideas?

the scarecrows are in Lake Hylia, you play eight notes (one note must be different) and then come back as an Adult and play the same tune, then whereever you see Navi turn greeen you play the song and a scarecrow appears, this allows you to hookshot them which is handy becuase there is one on the fishing area platform. The house glitch is a little akward in terms on precision, but basically this is what it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOIIJ5DoN4Q EDIT: BTW, getting the bean then going straight to Lake Hylia may be a good option, since the planting location is so close.

Are my routes not good? I think route 2 would be nice. And instead of going to Bottom of the Well, I can spend the 20 rupees on bombchu bowling for bombchus as a prize. It seems like having to die and walk all the way to Lake Hylia would be too much of a time waster. Btw, are these confirmed: --All enemies can be killed with bombs in Ganons Tower? --You need to go to Great Fairy for magic meter? --The bean platform will take me all the way to the Fishing Pond? Sorry if these are lame/dumb questions but they have been on my mind. Thanks
