Same here... although I planned to make my own avi just for personal use if nobody did make an avi of each wip. I'm kinda against using up bandwidth to transfer something as large as a TAS of this game so don't expect me to upload it, sorry. My pc is as old as dirt... but if i make an avi of the tas and watch it later it runs perfect. Just as fast and as smooth as an n64. You might consider doing the same if you allow your pc to idle very often and there isn't an avi of the wip you want to see.

Now that the route has been more or less settled with another major accomplishment by Kazooie, I might be interested in working on my test run again, even if I'm not working on an actual run since Acryte has dibs on that. Though I do agree that there really should be two runs here (minimalist and getting all the medallions). Well, maybe that's just me, since to me the game feels kind of incomplete without the water temple or fire temple, and missing most of the forest temple. Skipping the ice cave and the bottom of the well doesn't seem like it's taking much out, but skipping half of the adult temples does change the game a lot.

Well... I think a movie should have clear goals, and not skipping the fire temple and the water temple, but still skipping the bottom well, and the ice cavern seems somehow weird to me. IMO, there should be 2 runs: - One that completes the game as fast as possible, without any restrictions. - A 100% run, collecting all items and skulltulas (and whatever other conditions everyone agrees on for a 100%)

The current TAS minimalist route is close to finalization. Child 1. Kokiri Forest (Sword, Rupee, Shield) 2. Inside the Deku Tree (Text skips, Jump slash) 3. Hyrule Field (Fairy Ocarina, Backwalk to lake) 4. Lake Hylia (Fishing Pond, Gold Scale, Bottle) 5. Gerudo Valley (Cucco jump, Wall slash through gate) 6. Haunted Wasteland (Backwalk across quicksand) 7. Spirit Temple (Get Requiem/Gauntlets, Fire storage, Iron Knuckle skip) == SAVE AND RESET GAME == 8. Hyrule Field (Backwalk to castle) 9. Courtyard (Bombchu skips, Lullaby) 10. Zora's River (Buy magic bean) 11. Zora's Domain (Show bottle) 12. Zora's Fountain (Enter J-J through side of mouth) 13. Inside Lord Jabu-Jabu's Belly (Tentacle skips, bombchu boosts) 14. Zora's River (Warp to Lost Woods) 15. Sacred Forest Meadow (Saria's Song) 16. Lost Woods (Warp to Goron City) 17. Death Mountain Trail (Clear entrance to Dodongo's Cavern) 18. Dodongo's Cavern (Light eyes with single Bombchu) 19. Death Mountain Trail (Bomb boulders; glitch into fairy fountain) 20. Great Fairy's Fountain (Glitch through; get magic meter/spin attack) 21. Death Mountain Trail (Owl warp) 22. Graveyard (Plant bean for Shadow early) 23. Hyrule Field (Ganondorf cutscene; Ocarina of Time) 24. Market (Bombchu bowling: manipulate luck to get 'chus on 1st try) 25. Great Fairy's Fountain (Din's Fire: use bombchu) 26. Temple of Time (Place Spiritual Stones; pull Master Sword) No skulltulas needed. Bombchus are just enough. 1. Spirit Temple - Remove boulder blocking sunlight (2F) 2. Spirit Temple - Remove beamos (3F) * 3. Hyrule Castle - Skip weird egg 4 & 5. J-J - Skip to boss antechamber 6. Lost Woods - Remove boulders to Goron City 7. DC - Light BOTH eyes with 1 'chu (will take many tries) 8. DC - Entrance to boss chamber 9 & 10 - Remove boulders on DM Trail Adult (<1:10) 27. Graveyard (Hookshot/Hylian Shield/Shadow early) 28. Shadow (Use Kazooie's wallslash trick) 29. Forest Temple (via Death Mountain Trail & Goron City: get bow) 30. Spirit Temple (use requiem right after getting bow) == SAVE AND RESET GAME == 31. Temple of Time (Light arrows cutscene) 32. Ganon's Castle (barrier skip) 33. Ganon's Tower/Escape/Last Battle Target: <2:45 total Good luck, Acryte.

That list is amazing, I wonder if it really could be done that way. If all that is possible, I can't even wait for the WIP's. Getting Gold Scale would be great, I never got it myself.

To mwl: In the route you posted... wouldn't you need to use another bombchu when entering zora's river?

Thank you very much for the route suggestion mwl, it should be very helpful for anyone who wants to run this game. Acryte, are you still working or intend to get started soon with your run?

Wow, you're right. Thanks for the heads-up. We'll have to see whether it's possible to do the damage boost in J-J with only one bombchu. If not, then pushing the block in Spirit Temple to avoid the beamos probably adds the least amount of time to the run.

Wait, so what are all the Bombchu sources you're going to use now?

I'm not sure for the TAS route, but here are the probably sources: In the well, in the spirit temple, from bombchu bowling, magic carpet in DC, uhh, that's it. Early well might be the best one...

Wasn't there also some back-alley store that had a limited supply of Bombchus?

If I remember correctly that's not an options... since bombchu's are needed to skip the bomb bag, and the bomb bag is needed to buy bombchu's at the back alley store...

I don't think that opens until you complete Dodongo's Cavern. And you have to enter at night. And you can't get the ones from the flying carpet, they cost 200 a pop. And the Bowling Alley doesn't open until you complete Dodongo's Cavern either.

Bombchu sources: 10 - Spirit Temple 10 - Bombchu Bowling I'm trying to ration them so that exactly 10 are used before bowling. The back alley shop and the carpet merchant are NOT feasible options for a TAS because of the needed adult wallet upgrade (and 10 Skulltula tokens).

How do you get the Gold scale as a kid?

Ok, I finally located a video of it, and all I see is him catching a 10 pound fish and then suddenly getting the Golden Scale. ... But I've caught 10 pound fish as a kid before. (And I've caught a 21 pounder as an adult. Whatever.) Where's the disconnect, what am I missing?

You basically catch a fish like normal but hold Z and R while going toward the guy and talking to him.

Well, at SDA we've discovered another feasible Bombchu source. I'm not sure if we need 2 or 3 in the entire run, but we can use 10 from the Spirit Temple 10 from the Bottom of the Well There are two ways to get to the Bottom of the Well Early. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygRYAhLcDWs AND http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzhS1osexZE Sorry if you already knew this information as I tend to repeat things everyone knows, but I'm only trying to help. :P I didn't see this on this thread yet, so hopefully I AM adding new info to those who aren't active over at the thread at SDA as well.

Yeah, I don't think it's a wrong idea to post the main findings here. Some will probably have seen them already the the sda forum... but it's kinda messy, with 10 pages being added every day.
