I'm dumbfounded at how broken his game has become. Hopefully one day they will be compiled into a nice site to view, much like M2K2 is for Metroid. Trying to find information in that SDA topic is beyond hopeless for me.

Perhaps put it up on a wiki page for collaborative editing? At the Zelda Wikicity, for example.

Check my sig for some OoT tricks/glitches. I'm very active at SDA and rarely checks this site, but it's a good one nevertheless. I've made many of the videos that's listed in the OoT topic at SDA, but I can only take credit for half of the tricks I've made vids of, often I'm just making videos of already discovered tricks. I will start checking this thread from now on, If I'll find anything important, I'll post it here aswell. My favorite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIzdGwp75bA :)

Please do. I've avoided reading up on the topic for a few months and now I'm totally lost. I watched a few vids already, and they are awesome.

Damn nice shortcuts, but one question: How is he able to do a whirl-attack right after he draws his sword? Or is this just part of the glitch?

spockybiemmichab, there are two ways to perform one of those spins. One is the long way, holding B until it charges up enough and letting go. The other way is called a Quick Spin. You rotate the Control Stick once and press B, and usually Link'll do a spin attack. Quick Spins can be used on bosses to keep them down for extraordinarily long times. See this video for an example of Quick Spins used to the player's advantage against a boss. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ab2mSchUFo

Thank you Frigz. I think I knew this once, but it's been a really long time since I beat this game. I hope this run will be finished somewhen!

Well, while tricks and routes are still being discovered and decided upon, it might be prudent if we figured out some things that would be useful for Acryte (or just people in general) to know. For example, the minimum amount of frames/movement required to perform a quick spin; I'm curious as to how simple a turn of the control stick can be before the quick spin doesn't work. ...Really, I'm just starved for any sort of real action/experimentation on the TAS side of things here :)

You should really use text skips, they'll let you shave of at least 30 seconds. I have a video showing the texts and how to skip them here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdEhkqW2Tqs There is one that isn't included and it's how to skip the text about diving. Good luck to you.

I understand. But if you skip the 1st set of texts and say you climb on vines later in another place. Wouldnt the fairy tell you the same thing?

I think what's happening in the video is that first it shows you what Navi says, and then it goes back in time and shows you how to skip it.

Well, can't you skip it again? Find where the trigger area is and go around it.
