Indeed... play frame by frame, and get the sidehops at the first frame possible... just try to make a sidehop at frame X, if it doesn't make Link move, try frame X+20, if it works, X+10, if it works, X+5, if it doesn't work X+8, if it works, X+7, if it doesn't work, you know that X+8 was the first frame possible. Try doing that for every side jump, and try to get more accurate corners... if you do this, it will both show in the quality of the movie, and in the rerecord count (which is currently too low).

I hope you guys can help me :) Ive been lateling tasing some SNES games, for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bokx6IXlhYc And i really wanna TAS OOT, im not planning to beat any records or something, just record the game thru by TASing. But i suck with the TAS Input plugin. I couldnt sidehop from the balcony in the begining with it. So you got any tips for me to handle that?

please read through he forum, post this in SNES games. This is an ocarina of time thread. I'm not trying to be mean, but we need to keep things on topic here. Ocarina of time is a good game, but you might eant to stick to the SNES until you get better, there are alot of mistakes in this run, and a surprising low number of rerecords

Dont be A-holes to him i suck at the plugin. I would suggest to play on 5% speed, pause when you need to change controls and use many savestats so if you screw up, you can redo it. I also redid my TAS of Dodongo's Cavern and I was able to get a better time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zh1TAdw7-Q First part redone i am still working on bomb staircase. Or maybe i should beat jabu jabu first so i have a bottle and fish and i will be able to use the glitch to put the fish on the switch.

you should really work with frame advance your goal is to do everything as quickly as possible, so even 1/20 of a second matters ;) A good TASer does everything on the first frame possible. This is only possible, because of frame advance, because I'm able to choose, when the game goes on moving ;) it is definately not possible to do everything on the first frame possible, if you play with 5% speed. although a normal eye isn't really able to notice the 3-9 frame difference, it is still important to do everything on the first frame possible, because if someone doesn't care, if hisyour TAS is frame perfect, he hasn't gotten the point of TASing yet the goal is not to create something, that looks good, the goal is to create a run, that is perfect and try the TAS Input Plugin, too. everybody needs a while to get used to it, but it's the only way to get really good ;)

Since OoT runs at 20fps, 5% speed is 1fps. I think it probably would be possible to hit things on the first frame possible consistently when you have 1 second intervals to do it in. Frame advance is still better, though.

Thanks you Captain for proving my point. It's a bias toward me because im new here. If someone of your statuer writes something non-related you do get a fucking lecture from 700 different people. ( more like 3 but w.e) Also i have modified my TAS for the deku tree. It took Meh 3 minutes and 14 seconds. About 300 and somewhat rerecords.(But lag blows 8=D) I had a desync and had to redo it from there which is good because i was able to shave off 15 seconds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNF_kUHOyG0 Please tell me what i can do better.
