I'll leave my opinion here even though I don't really care about this game so much.
Everything that can be collected should be collected, regardless of it's usefulness or the fact that it'll be replaced.
Of course I'm not talking about getting every single arrow or bomb in the game, you got the point.
If skipping a single item keeps you from getting a 100% completion in games that keep track of these things, you should follow the same rules here, that's what I think.
I think maps, compasses, and boss keys should count for 100%, although I dislike the idea of adding 30 seconds per dungeon of 'you got a thing' cutscenes.
Nice to see people care about the potential 100% TAS enough to share their opinions. It is good that we are having this discussion now instead of when someone is halfway through the run. There are some reoccuring concerns. The main ones being completeness and entertainment. Both of which are crucial to the potential run.
A 100% definition for any game is deducted from what the game in question keeps track of. The 100% definition for OoT is from what OoT tracks.
The dungeonitems (map, compass, bosskey) are kept track of in their respective dungeons, but can not be checked for outside the dungeon it is for, after you have finished the dungeon.
The 100% OoT speedruns on console (non-TAS) also use the endgame pausescreen as a check for 100%. Consistency is usefull for comparing times and routes.

Oh, I totally forgot about this. Certainly consistency is important between the TAS and non-TAS definition of 100%, so yeah, the current non-TAS definition should be used for the TAS too.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but checking to make sure all items are collected (including those inside dungeons) should be trivial. That's not really an argument against including keys keys, etc.

Lots of good submissions this time, the OoT TAS community is getting a bit bigger! We are also going to start the 100% run soon. We haven't decided whether to get Map/Compass/Boss Keys yet. They add a lot of extra work to this already insane project, which is a huge downside.
Not too often. There probably won't be a new task for now, but I will ask some people if they want another one and if there's enough itnerest I could host yet another one for now.
@Slowking
Finally get your lazy ass to the IRC, we want to plan the route. We actually have a decent beginning, that you will probably love ;)
I'm hoping the 100% definition chosen will piss off as much people as possible.
The 100% definition is allready set and yes it pisses off a lot of people. The runners may still decide to get dungeonitems if it is their personal prefferance.
I am happy that people are contributing to the discussion and I am confident the runners apreciate it as well, but ultimately it is their decission what to get.
Okay, I'm not trying to be snarky about this when I ask it, but: Can someone tell me why the 100% RTA conditions don't work? All I've gotten from that so far is that they just won't work.
The Any% run is ready to be published. Everything left we need is a decent screenshot. The run is pretty short and doesn't provide much footage for awesome screenshots, so I'm not really sure on which one would be a good representation for the it. I made a folder with 10 different screenshots and it would be cool to receive some feedback, which one you like best:

I decided to post this here, because I'm pretty sure more people attention to this thread and not the 3,5 months old submission thread.
I like snap0130.jpg's aesthetics, the only problem is that Link is barely in the shot.
snap0058.jpg is funny, and probably the way to go if you want a 'don't spoil the ending!' type screenshot :) That look Link is getting... haha
So I would vote for those two

The download link got broken, there's a in the end of it that shouldn't be there.
I like how snap0067 tells a lot of what's wrong in the TAS but doesn't spoil too much.
