There is a ~3 pixel wide gap in the collision there. He targeted just in the right spot so Link jumped over it, instead of just walking over. I bet with blank A you could just fall through. Looking around, forest temple is kinda shoddily designed all around. A few gaps in the collision here and there, lots of oob floors, etc.

Slowing, how did you take the screenshot? Wire frame view in a certain plugin?

I'm fairly sure that's a screenshot from a tool called "Utility of Time". http://wiki.spinout182.com/w/Utility_of_Time

oooh That's interesting, thank you :D that's quite weird, we need to find a way to activate blank A as adult ^^ And yes he used UoT... I guess

so Jodenstone finally got a new WR using the new trick. (non-TAS) link: http://www.twitch.tv/jodenstone/v/3879810?t=11h33m20s

Has anyone actually had any experience trying to play or TAS with VC OoT? Or Dolphin TASing in general... I tried it out today, and it did hang at random points in the game but I feel like this can be avoided somehow either with different emulator settings or just keep playing back the movie until it doesn't hang... In general, I'm not entirely sure what settings I need to use for TASing with dolphin/VC stuff. I did change "external frame buffer" to give me 60 input frames instead of the 20 that frame advance normally gives when you boot up dolphin, but other than that I'm not sure if there's anything that can be done to aid the playing or TASing of the game...

He's got a link direct to the video rather than the timestamp in the 11hour video http://www.twitch.tv/jodenstone/v/3882228

Is the rupee route in that TAS optimal? I've never seen anybody manipulate the rupees from the rocks like that. EDIT: I've noticed some things in that TAS that's somewhat unoptimal (although i'm still not sure about the rupee route). But i've also seen some parts that look different from current TASes on this website. Maybe we could reach out to the Japanese community. I think they might know some things we don't (and vice versa)

The TASes on this site are a rather bad reference. None of them include the most recent tricks, because it takes very long to create an optimized run. From what I've seen abeshi's run uses the same route as the console runners do, so trick and route wise there is nothing really new. I'm not sure if buying the shield is faster, but it might be ;)

If that's the case, can you please update the game's resources page please?

That TAS was very interesting to watch, I have never seen some of the strats used there. Although I do have to admit that the wrong warps did take away some of the entertainment compared to the MST TAS on this site. I remember how that crazy BK skip in Shadow blew my mind back then, but now the entire dungeon can be skipped. I only noticed one obvious mistake in the TAS: He didn't skip the textbox when stepping on the switch with Ruto to open the boomerang room. I guess he just didn't know about it, it's not very well known. And I have a question to the experts here: Why did he not skip the owl when leaving the forest for the first time? I thought all you needed for that was the shield and some C item.

I found the links by clicking "show all" on the normal nico page. Let me be a nice person: http://en.niconico.sarashi.com/?sm25735327 http://en.niconico.sarashi.com/?sm25735815 http://en.niconico.sarashi.com/?sm25737837

Don't use the resource page as reference. It calls superslide teleport "air warp" and taking recoil from a bomb in the air to gain some distance "mid-air bomb jump". It's not a jump and ss teleport doesn't just work to get you in the air. And those are only two examples. Basically all the names on there are wrong. o.O Anywho, ZSR might not be the most up to date site, but it's a lot better than the resource page.

Actually, in this case I do too. The quality of his play isn't the best, especially when it comes to manipulating things and I noticed 1-2 tricks he didn't incorporate, but this is still a reasonably good TAS overall and we don't even have an all dungeons TAS on this site. The route is an issue, as Grunz mentioned. I can think of multiple routes that would be faster. But oh well... In this case I actually wish Swordless would come back and TAS something. He talked to me a few months ago and asked me for an MST route, but sadly he never contacted me again afterwards.

I was just asking for someone to update the page with new info, not to use it as a reference.

Well updating all of that would take forever. Somebody should probably set a Link to ZSR there, but why don't you do that? ;)

What about the strats which aren't viable enough in RTA to be mentioned? If there are any and they aren't mentioned there
