Isn't Mupen ridiculously outdated at this point? Bizhawk's N64 core is an adaptation of Mupen, anyway, so switching over shouldn't be a hassle unless you're either lazy, stubborn, an idiot, or some combination of the three.

Doesn't look like a reason.

The any% TAS looks very spliced to me. I doubt a whole m64 exists for it and that probably goes for the 100% TAS, too. Ofcourse here you can't publish without a movie file.

We don't have to use bizhawk or upload our m64 file.. these insults are totally unnecessary

Oh, so you are a combination of the three. Good on you for admitting it! Glad to see you live up to your username so well!

Do you even know why people don't bother to change to bizhawk? TAS input is more clunky, savestates are slower, memory addresses are different and most games aren't more stable than on mupen (glitches still occur on both emulators). So idk why most people would bother. Looks like most people that wishes N64 TASers change to Bizhawk haven't tried using the emulator lol.

I don't know about the Virtual Pad since I don't use it, but I can confirm that savestates not slow, even in TAStudio (actual savestates, not greenzone). Maybe you need to set the compression to 0. The memory addresses are different, because MHS uses the memory addresses from the mupen64 process on your computer, while BizHawk uses memory addresses from the emulated game. Not sure how messy the addresses are in the mupen64 process, but if you found an address in BizHawk you could theoretically calcualte all other addresses using the difference between addresses.

I dunno, Micro500 was telling how cool N64 on Bizhawk is during some AGDQ.

Bizhawk doesn't have m64 files. Also it wasn't an insult, just and observation. The video is spliced, as in not recorded in one go. Now, if there is an uninterrupted m64 I can't say. Even if there wasn't, I don't see that much wrong with it, as stopping and redoing is what a TAS does anyway, but you couldn't submit that here. If there is an uninterrupted m64 of the any%, why not upload it? I'd like to watch it in mupen.

In what way?
savestates are slower
That was fixed ages ago.
memory addresses are different
Considering mupen doesn't have a memory viewer and mhs takes the programs RAM into account that is to be expected. You can however convert the adresses pretty easily using some math.
and most games aren't more stable than on mupen (glitches still occur on both emulators).
A lot of games are actually a lot less prone to desyncing, including OoT and MM.

Nope. I seriously don't care what emulator is used, how it's being done, etc, etc. All I care about is that authors is allowed to do as they please and that hopefully I can see an awesome TAS at the end.

I can vouch for this with MM at least, because with Bizhawk MM is definitely more stable than on mupen.

I actually use BizHawk for basically anything that's supported. Outside of some graphical glitching that's probably been fixed by now, I haven't had any major problems with BizHawk running N64 games. With all that said, the main reason people aren't bothering to change to bizhawk is because of a combination of how it has the same bad rep as Byuu's things as far as system requirements, and the fact that people are stubborn and the older emulators just have better exposure. Hell, I watched a tas the other day that was made in ZSNES of a SMW level that was made within the last 12 months, and the author of the run admitted it's not optimized.

People who are not involved in the TAS should not be bitching about what emulator the authors choose. Good to hear the authors are keeping the 100% definition consistent with the RTA runners. How far have you gotten Moronic? I wanna see a WIP!
