I would definitley get the heart piece here as you have to wait for Ruto to rise.
She rises once you get in range of her, doesnt it? Im pretty sure you have to be a certain distance (a short distance) away from her to make her stand up. Why would I need to plant the seed?

...um, no. Please don't listen to him, Guano. You have barely enough time to make it into Hyrule Castle as of now. You have to take the owl. I fell into the moat once and it was sunset by the time I climbed up and made it back to the drawbridge. There is certainly no time to go down the river and backwalk to HC, and still make it. Why the hell are we getting Deku Nuts as an adult? Because they would be good for Ganon? You'd need more than just three Deku Nuts for there to be a significant difference, and your sword spins are fast enough. Keep in mind that you get a string of text boxes every time you pick up a new item. No, Shadow is definitely doable with three hearts. If it becomes an issue, he can always pick up a heart from a defeated enemy. We're not planting the bean. That takes too long. Going to the graveyard is now an unnecessary diversion, and where are we going to get the 10 Rupees for the magic bean? Once again, I ask where the Deku Nut before King Zora is. It should have been brought up way earlier.

When I said three deku nut I meant 15, because every time you collect one it increments your total by five. I think the text boxes (which can be speeded up) aren't a justification to skip getting a nut. The nut is also very good for Ganon's tower espeacally the lizard and the first stalfos. The mad plant I was refering to is the one to the right of the door when you play the SoT to remove the time block.

Yes, but it will be hard and frustrating

There is no video demostating the bean skip, and I'm not prepared to even think of making one. All I'll say is that you need to roll jump and have a perfect peak jump slash followed by the poe hitting Link at an upward perpendicular angle, even then half of Links body is hanging over the edge once its done.

The deku nut in the domain is where the pots are near the bottom of the domain.

You're right. The one in Zora's Domain should have been collected. It's in the pot right next to the sign -- and this could have saved time on the boss battle. I think you're right for the Forest Temple one as well. It looks like the time saved in Ganon's Tower and the last battle outweighs the time needed for the diversion.

But it's doable, and this is what separates a TAS from a console speedrun. If it's the most frustrating trick in the run, at least the rest of it is all downhill from there on out.

I'll say this now and its not to deliberately put Guano off. It took me approximatley seven hours worth of trying spread over four playing sessions. That'll translate into weeks of trying on a TAS.

I need some help on the seamwalk. I take it you cannot run and get up there. Yes the nuts would have saved 2 or 3 seconds on the boss but since I can manipulate what comes out of things I can always get something/someone to drop them later on right? I am going to spend a long time on the Poe boost (different angles, speed, timing) dont worry. Here is my run up to where I need to do the seamwalk. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=8B6E2AE57F858675

This is just a test run, right? wouldn't it be easier to just get the bean now, instead of having to do the hardest trick twice?

I'll let Guano make his decisions (if he hasn't already), but I'd think it's best to make this the "final" run, get it published, and wait a good few months for people to comment on the run and suggest improvements. Then, anyone who wants to make a new run with all improvements can do so. I don't think all the mistakes so far total even near a minute -- and for a run that's approaching the 1-hour mark, it's very solid. Seamwalk tips You have to line yourself up perfectly with the seam. Use Z to get a closer look at the edge - that's what you're trying to walk up. Once you're on it, you have to remain on that edge in order not to fall off. Then, after you've made it up, you can backwalk towards the fence. Bombchu boost tips As soon as you jump, press the L and R buttons together. Immediately afterwards, press B quickly and you should be boosted across the moat and onto the ledge. You should have 1/4 heart remaining (!) after the blast. Hope this helps, and good luck.

Yeah, Im glad I got hit by the 2nd boss for the 3/4 heart remaining. That will save some good time on me dying.

I wasn't able to run up the seam, and could only do it while walking forward. But I didn't spend a lot of time on it because back when I was doing that area, half a year ago, there wasn't a spirit before Dodongo technique, so I had to stall there anyway. ie, I don't know. =P

I still cannot get up the seam. If someone can get up the seam pretty fast, save it and post up.

I don't think its actually possible to back-walk through the castle grounds. I could walk backwards initally, but when your in the areas where the guard appeared I could only walk diagonally backward backwards. if this is true then its best to side jump through the sequence. Try entering the grounds through the moat at different frames, so that you don't have to pause for the guards at any point. Seam walking shouldn't be to hard if you configure the analougue settings on the keyboard.

Guano, you line the edge of the steam up with the edge of the B button circle (the one with the sword in it). That edge is exactly in the middle of the screen. Its usually how people seamwalk easiest.

It did for me as well using a savestate I had made during the Spirit Temple. Playing it back from the beginning, I had no problems though, so you might try that.

Well, how far have you gotten on the seamwalk? Have you actually gotten on the seam and then slipped off?

Ive gotten to the top before, but that was like 1 hour of trying and taking my precious time. I cant do it fast at all.

Once on the seam, go into first-person view and position the sword icon on the top of the screen to the right of the seam. To walk up the seam, hold down Z, and remember to keep lining yourself up every few steps so you don't slip. Tips courtesy of fluffy_kitten (the guy who made the video). No one has ever done a seamwalk in a TAS, so I suppose it's up to you to figure out what the limits are.

If you can provide a movie file that has you stopping right infront of the seam, I'll give it a shot, as I don't particularly desire to backwalk into the right position when I have no idea where i'm actually going :P

The n00b raises his ugly head to say something: I think in a TAS you should AT LEAST backwalk the seam. I mean, you have all the tools to make it. The n00b has spoken and is going back into his dark grotto and gobbles some raw fish...

I got onto the seam fast, I just cant get up it fast. Here is the m64 along with the save in a zip. I include the .m64 each time because it seems to desynch a lot and I dont want it to happen anymore. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=1D6A2E824F721980

Okay, so the guards are standing there once I enter. Now do I need to wait some frames before entering to make them not show up? Also, I am going to replay from the very beginning just to make sure it hasnt f'd me.
