Sorry Acryte made a vid of it some time ago, but it expired on MegaUpload. Its best to use slow down, but you take out the sword and quickly cancel with a deku stick. It fractionally saves time of approximatley 1-3 seconds during a long backwalk, equipping a stick seems to give some kind of mini boost, this should be perhaps used in the next run, and a later reccomendation is to save the last stick with a miss jumpslash Dondongo.
Could this have solved the hyrule castle seamwalk problem?

It's hard to say at this point. The current plan is to arrive at the Fishing Pond around sunrise, get to Kaepora Gaebora in the early morning, enter the castle grounds by midday, and crawl into the castle courtyard before the sun sets. The game automatically sets the time to noon after the completion of Jabu-Jabu, and there's only a limited distance to backwalk after that. So we'll have to see if Guano can make it into the courtyard this time around, and if so, by how many seconds he beat the Wolfos.

BTW Guano, I love how you got the chick without turning aroun, continuing the backwalk afterwards.

If backwalking with the alternating stick/sword trick becomes too frustrating, just do it on the longer backwalks before the castle courtyard: (1) Kokiri Forest -> Fishing Pond (2) Fishing Pond -> Owl warp (3) Market -> Castle Courtyard We'll then look at how many frames are saved and decide...

The re-record count was 41,713 in the update I posted. Somehow you managed 6,000+ re-records since then? Where are you right now?

Alright, I am taking a break from Metal Slug X to work on this. Check out my stage 3 .avi file http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=F10D3C66045E1225

Unfortunately I don't know anything about Metal Slug. I've never played the game. *shrug*

I suppose I can check this avi of yours out. I don't know much about that series... but, meh, why not? *watches it* Hmm, that was pretty cool. I might have to check that game out and perhaps follow your progress through the game.

nice Avatar. I also have Stage 2 and 1 done really good, but I'll probably need to re-upload them if anyone wants to see them.

hey mwl, I re-did killing the deathwarp part and found out its 50 frames faster to draw the sword and jumpslash right away. Thanks for the jumpslash tip. Ill get to the Lake and see what happens from there. Also, when do I get the bottle with a letter in it? Wouldnt it be best to get that right away so when I come back to Zora's Domain, I can already have it.

Good. Did you also do frame advance on the save/continue and file select screens? Those weren't quite optimal either. Skip the bottle for now. I think you're going to need every second you have to get to the castle courtyard in time, but I could be wrong. If you do make it in there say, more than three seconds before nightfall, you should then redo the movie from the fishing pond (sorry!) and pick up the bottle. In any case, you'll be entering Zora's Domain from the Lost Woods, and if you don't have the bottle, just warp to Lake Hylia to retrieve it and reenter Zora's Domain. Summary 1. For now Fishing Pond -> Owl warp -> Hyrule Castle -> Castle Courtyard Next segment: Zora's Domain -> Lake Hylia (Bottle) -> Zora's Domain -> Jabu-Jabu 2. If you make it with a margin of three seconds or more Fishing Pond -> Get bottle -> Owl warp -> Hyrule Castle Next segment: Zora's Domain -> Jabu-Jabu 3. If you make it with a margin of 8-10 seconds (highly unlikely), retry the most efficient route: Fishing Pond -> Get bottle -> Zora's Domain -> Jabu-Jabu -> Zora's Domain -> Lake Hylia -> Owl warp -> Hyrule Castle 4. If you don't make it using (1) You'll have to repeat (3) while waiting it out on the castle grounds. :(

Yes, even though its more time sonsuming you should definitley see how much time you have left to get the bottle outside once you boost throught he moat. Remeber to try that deku sword swap during a backwalk as it could easily make the difference in this case and it provides more entertainment anyway.

Beginning from the Fishing Pond in the early morning, I reached the castle courtyard (non-optimally) with at least 15 seconds left in real-time. So, I think getting the bottle is a good idea...don't you, Guano? Regardless, please post an update once you've gotten the Golden Scale and we'll make a final decision. Yautja, the time is set to NOON after receiving the Zora's Sapphire, not "early morning." There is at least a half-minute's difference in real time. EDIT - The route in my sig has been updated at last. Yes, the second segment is quite a beast. =O

Yeah, I would recommend getting the bottle, it would leave at least 3 seconds left to enter the hole.

Could someone please send me (or post here) a zip file of all useful savestates you've got? Thank you very much. If you want to send me by email: ILove2Talk@gmail.com

Ill post you some savestates once I get to the fishing pond. The only thing is playing back from savestates, there is a chance it might Desynch(which will lag the buttons being pressed) and will just make Link look dumb swinging his sword around and such.

Where's Dacicus when you need him? He did a good .avi conversion job last time.

Someone should make an AVI of segment 1. To make it easy for whoever's converting, segment 1 will be defined as everything between frame 1 (0'00.0") and frame 124110 (34'28.5"), inclusive.
I'll work on this. It'll be uploaded somewhere by tomorrow afternoon (Eastern time) at the earliest. BTW, there was a bit of trouble last time since I didn't put some sort of disclaimer in the video saying it was done with emulator assistance, etc. Unfortunately, I still have no idea how to do this...
