EXISTING IMPROVEMENTS (Will Yield 4:55): 1) Get 2 rupees in grass, climb ledge, get 1 Green and 1 Blue from jumping off fence, get 2 green and 2 Blue in maze, try go get 2-3 from inside maze by cutting bushes, get 1 green from back flipping after exiting maze, get 1 Blue from sign, get 2 green from grass near platforms, get 1 blue from hopping platforms, get 1 blue from behind shop counter. 2) Get 3 Deku Sticks from Deku Babas, 3 from Darunia’s Chamber, 1 from pot on way out of Goron City, one in Zora’s Domain Pot 3) Try running backwards across Hyrule Field 4) Push one block to very EDGE of moat and climb it to jump to other side. 5) Try not Z-Targeting Poes in Forest Temple 6) Use hookshot ascent rather than warping out of Water Temple, then jump to corner with High Grab (allows you to skip extra key). Do this after getting key from bomb room. 7) Use “crouch stab” on Iron Knuckle as Kid and get Shield in room from chest of Spirit Temple, as well as Queen Gohma. 8) Use hookshot on ladder in room with block in Shadow Temple.

3) Try running backwards across Hyrule Field sounds interesting. With this idea, have you then admitted that rolling across Hyrule Field was perhaps the worst choice between rolling, side-jumping and running backwards? I really would like someone to run backwards across Hyrule Field and another run with side-jumping to time these methods. Im quite sure the results would be very interesting indeed.. My claim has been as always, side-jumping is the fastest way. Since it appears for me that Link must take more time to perform another roll or do a backward rather then a side-jump, which he does very fast and instant.

In Part 11 at 01:37, would it be better/faster using din's fire for getting rid off thoose grabbling things so you could hit the main enemy undisturbed? part 10 was excellent done although one question: In the desert storm, could u have used the long hookshot to move faster between those wooden lath? (don't know exactly what you call those wooden things). Also I would have used all the way the Hover Boots (well obviously not the parts where normal and iron boots are required) since Hover Boots are very very good equipment for rolling because your rolling would then be much faster and continuously.

Part 15 - Ganon's Castle part 2 at 00:17, would it be faster if you used din's fire instead of fighting these two lizzards? Same thing at 00:49, faster using din's fire or light arrow? At about 02:30, using Hover Boots for rolling would most definitely be more sufficient rather than using normal boots (especially using Hover Boots for the long stairs). The fight with Ganon is one of the best (if not the best) fight I've ever seen! :) At 06:51, when u are running from the building to collapse, Hover Boots is much needed here then normal boots. Im quite sure you would save alot of time using them. 08:24, din's fire perhaps?

Fastest movement is side jumping. But it's also the most difficult to line up.

did u checked it by timing these (running backwards and side-jumping) methods? If so, then it would be officially confirmed ^_^ btw, someone like TSA, side-jumping should be a easy thing for him by now (regarding how much he has practiced and played the damn game) ^_^

It has been confirmed for some time now. The reason that rolling is used is because it is more dependable. You can change your direction after any roll, you can see where youre going, and TSA's method of rolling is faster than just mashing A.

I can if you would like, but I'm 99% sure. My logic comes from the jump that you can barely make to the top of the entrance to Dodongo cave. It's much easier to make it with a side jump then a backflip. I assume backflip is what's meant by backwards running. If this is an incorrect assumption then I apologize.

Your assumption is totally correct Omni and I take your words for granted that its faster than backflip. I have always said that he should side-jump only or mainly in long distances such as Hyrule Field. There is also many parts were he could have used the Hover Boots.

Just make a video of a linear path (it's usually best to do it along a wall so you know each time you do the same straight line). Side hop. Walk backwards. Back Flip. Roll. Then open vDub and do a frame check. I think this is a bug, though - the bug is partially fixed in Majora's Mask (Deku Link can still burn rubber walking backwards, but he's so small it's not faster than other things).

I think you need the red armor in order to survive the Fire Temple. It would be impossible to do the whole temple in like 5 minutes. Will it be possible to skip a few heart containers, though? I know you need hearts in order to survive longer underwater, but I'm fairly sure you always had at least 10 seconds of spare time whenever you were underwater.

It is possible to skip the Goron Tunic if you get the Scarecrow's Song, and you figure out a way to stay alive long enough against Volvagia - if you die of heat, the battle re-starts. So you'd need to get more HCs I believe. If I am wrong about the battle-reset, you still have those few second "delays" to wait for you to re-spawn and begin. You actually can skip all the Heart Containers now, I believe, thanks to the new trick in the Water Temple that lets me bypass the longest underwater segment. I am not 100% sure about getting to Ruto and surfacing, though...I will need to test how long that takes.

Okey time for another tiny discovery. TSA, take a look at your first part, at 19:44. Instead of using your Deku Sheild, you can ignore those 2 creatures by pressing as fast as you can by side-jumping. I reached Saria in 3 seconds.... So I figure you could save around 9-10 seconds. Also, I tried your technique for walking backwards and it worked perfectly fine and its faster. Finally, the looong stairs in Ganon's castle, you should really side-jump all the way and there you can save many seconds. I've practised alot with side-jumping and its very beneficial in many certain areas.

Man... The only thing I can think of right now is that you can backflip over that spiky log in the Deku Tree instead of getting hit by it, but that probably isn't any faster or easier. (Unless you really need to conserve health...)

I didn't read this whole thread, so I don't know if it's been addressed already. Pardon if it already has been. In the Ganondorf fight, why do you stand on a far side and play tennis with him? Can't you stand right under him? If you do, you should be able to hit him immediately, rather than having to wait for all the bouncing back and forth.
