Here is how Ganon early could be implemented into the run. It may require the megaton Hammer or a C item that can do a jumpslash. It may also be possible to skip magic providing light arrows don't require it in order to use it but I'm not sure. This only works on version 1.0. The following is Kazooie's explanation 1. Beat all child dungeons. 2. Then do shadow early and get hover boots 3. Beat forest temple with hover boots 4. Go to fishing pond and steal rod with hover boots 5. Go to lon lon ranch and pay to ingo for ride and hop on horse and then get down and now you have deku stick on b button 6. Then do bottle b glitch with nayru's love on you right c button and then go to child. 7. As child equip bottled fish to your right c button as child and remember you must have 18 deku nuts. 8. Then go to adult and you have light arrow on your b button and do Ganon early and beat ganon with light arrow and then equip master sword and beat final part of ganon. If Guano doesn't want to go down this path then he doesn't have to, but I'm sure that the next run could very well use this. Sub 2 is definitley possible if magic isn't required for the light arrows.

Yes, in 1.0 you can run out over the water with the hover boots, and press b to cast, and then you will be able to leave the fishing pond with the fishing rod still on B.

the arrows required magic when i tried it with project64 and gameshark. however, i didn't have them on the B button. the light arrows don't require a bow, but they may still require since it seemed impossible to find arrows anywhere if you don't have the bow. i tried to buy them in the bazaar shop but the game/emulator screwed up. might be different in mupen64.

Guano there has been a new trick discovers that pretty much obseletes the current route. Its possible to get to the Mirror shiled ledge without entering the temple, it requires a magic bean in order to do it.

Damn, first the bomb boost and now this? Haven't we broken this game enough already? =)

No, you can never break the game enough.

How do you skip the barriers in Ganon's Castle without a sword? Can you somehow jumpslash with A?

This is too late for Guano, unfortunately. How much time is needed to get the bomb bag is a really important factor to seeing how the route will change. Do you have an answer to this? Hopefully, the all-medallion skip will somehow work out...

Yeah, I was thinking after Dodongo's Cavern but I dont have any bombs for the boulders. Every bomb was used as it could. The only exception would be adding 2 min or so doing: --Take the river down to get the bean, then go right back up the river and warp to Lost Woods. mwl, before I forget, try and get what is needed from YouTube on the Wiki site for the Temples.

The other option is redoing the run from after Jabu. Instead of warping to the Lost Woods, you'd ride the river down to the magic bean, and warp to the Desert Colossus area to plant it. Then, you'd do a deathwarp and enter the Lost Woods from the forest, while skipping the owl dialogue on the way to Goron City. Still not quite optimal, but it's already very good. Plus, you'd save another five minutes in the adult portion of the run. If not, the time you spend traveling after Dodongo's will probably exceed the time saved in Spirit by going directly to the Mirror Shield. It's up to you to decide whether five minutes saved is enough reason to spend probably five hours or more redoing what you've already done. We're just here to cheer you on, whatever your choice is. Shadow AKA, do you have a video showing how to collapse the statue? Otherwise, the rest is pretty much as shown by TSA. Forest * SC 1 - Entry Courtyard - Get 1st Small Key (See Note 1) * SC 2 - Main Chamber * SC 3 - Stalfos Battle (Need to defeat for upper-level Stalfos to appear); Get 2nd Small Key * SC 4 - Inner Courtyard - Perform Mega Boost * SC 5 - Block Puzzles - Push and climb * Unlock two doors en route to Stalfos Battle; Do two text skips (See Note 2) * SC 7 - Upper-level Stalfos Battle; Get Fairy Bow * Play the Requiem of Spirit Note 1: I'd recommend comparing the time needed to get the small key in the entry chamber (SC 1) versus the room with the wallmaster (SC 10). The wallmaster can be defeated very quickly with a jumpslash and spin attack. Most people on SDA believe that the entry chamber is slightly faster, but no one has actually timed the two rooms. Note 2: Climbing the ledge is not necessary for the second text skip, and is in fact slower. You should hug the wall, jump to the center platform, and jump again to the locked door. Spirit * Iron knuckle skip Everything else is pretty much the same as in TSA's video.

The only way to collaspse the statue is with arrows or bombchu's but my intention was to use the back-flip hover boost which is a stupendously hard trick discovered by Acryte, but you can use the super glide instead to cross the gap and do a quick turn and open the door. If Guano wants to plant a bean at the Colosus so he can go straight to the mirror shield, then he may as well purchase two beans since he has enough ruppee's and plant the other bean in the graveyard after the owl. THE IRON KNUCKLE SKIP IS USELESS BECAUSE YOU WOULD HAVE TO FIGHT IT AGAIN IMEADIATLEY AFTER YOU RE-ENTER DUE TO THE OBSTRUCTION CAUSED BY THE IRON BARS. (capitalized for emphasis)

Yes, just do that then. Thank you, AKA. The bean purchase dialogue takes between 8 and 9 seconds per bean when forwarded through (A, B, A, B...) optimally. The diversion to the graveyard takes what...no more than 30 seconds? So how much slower is this than the Poe boost? Seg. 2 Jabu-Jabu Zora's River - Buy two beans Warp to Desert Col. Desert Col. - Plant bean + deathwarp Seg. 3A Kokiri Forest Lost Woods - Owl dialogue skip Goron City DM Trail Dodongo's DM Trail - Seamwalk Fairy Fountain DM Trail - Owl warp KV - To graveyard Graveyard - Plant other bean (get Hylian Shield?) KV Hyrule Field Market - Bombchu Bowling Temple of Time This updated route should be very optimal. In fact, it may even be the most optimal considering that there is no fast way to buy a bean before entering the Desert Col. for the first time--you don't have any explosives or rupees. All right, no Iron Knuckle skip in Spirit...gotcha. So just do the crouch-stabbing as usual. @DK64_MASTER: No, that would not help.

OH MY GOD! Please let this be the last time someone figured something out 20 minutes later in the game. I really dont think this is faster. There is: --30 second ride down the river --16-20 seconds to buy the beans --20 seconds to play ocarina and warp --10 seconds to plant each bean --30 seconds diversion to Graveyard --6 seconds in the start(menu) loading screen to equip beans --15-20 seconds from the start screen to the Kokiri Forest --Can you skip the own dialogue? Another 12 seconds there --The walk to the Lost Woods from the house is around 20 seconds because you have to climb right? --And I would have to die to leevers in the DC which would take around 5-10 seconds. ~ Calculations for this would be around 3 minutes. Is that faster than the route planned?

The net time gained will be down to about 2-3 minutes. Don't do it, then. Chances are that more discoveries will follow anyway.

For AVI encoding purposes, Dacicus, I suppose you could include everything from the beginning to frame #285150 (1h 19m 12.50s), since Ganondorf entered the Sacred Realm and claimed the Triforce when Link was still a child.
Should I make a new AVI of the current WIP with all these new findings, or just wait?

even if guano ends up redoing a lot of it, I'd still like to see the current version. So, yeah, what mwl said.

I recently acquired the rom to play this but the run desyncs during the first dialogue...Anyone else have this problem? I'm running a 2.1 ghz celeron, 512mb ram and a geforce 5500, if that helps. Running with raw data off and read only checked too.

Question about the shield sliding trick, is there anything special you have to do other than holding Z and R? Do you have to hold a direction? Because I can get it to push me back, but I stop after a short while on the console.

My run desyncs at the part where the tree says "The youth whose destiny it is to lead Hyrule to the path of justice and truth..." Has anyone else had this problem? My checksum checks out and I use all the same settings as in the movie... I really wanna see this run =/
