Happens to me too if I record longer movies, like over 15 minutes. Maybe someone with more experience could explain the problem for us.

GuanoBowl, you have to do the super-glide during the Dampe race. You now have a Hylian Shield and bombs, so use them. :) That's how TSA got 36".

How many bombs are required for it? They could be useful in other places, unless manipulating luck to get bombs takes less time than each use of the glide (quite likely considering how friggin fast they glide)

He has 30 bombs right now with the C-button glitch. I believe five are needed for various puzzle elements in the dungeons. So 25 is way more than enough for the remainder of the run. At most 3-4 bombs will be needed to do Dampe's race optimally.

If anyone does another TAS for this game then this would be of relavence. This is how to do Ganon's Glitch without a sword, I only pray that light arrows on B don't require and sap magic away since the magic meter isn't refilled before the Ganondorf fight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Q7Tbi_BUhI Super slide works as well but the angle to slide directly into the tower isn't there.

Im getting closer and closer on the boost. It almost seems impossible. What I was thinking is throwing a bomb against the side of the fence and let it bounce back and explode in the air while jumpslashing and hitting at the right spot against Link's back. I'm continuing to not re-do the dampe race until I find out the spots for the bomb placement. There are a lot of turns and such.

Um, your movie desynchs after getting out of the market as an adult, so I'm afraid you kinda have to redo the Dampe race...

...it did desync for me as well when playing from power-on. i tried several times. it does seem to play from the supplied savestate, though. been lurking on this topic for a while... thought i'd throw in another 2 cents :P

The movie also desynced for me when played from the beginning, but not when played from the provided savestate.

Sorry if this is noobish, but how do you play the demo from a savestate? I cant seem to figure it out for some reason. Ive always just played it from the start and fast fowarded it, or wrote down what the last frame i stopped at was, and tell it to play until it would stop at that frame. I cant seem to find a 'resume from savestate' or anything of the like as an option. Im quite sorry if this is offtopic. Ive been lurking here since like it was in the 30's or so in page amounts. Keep up the good work, and i hope you can get the Dante run fixed up.

Play the movie file and make sure "read only" is checked. Then simply load the savestate in the normal way.

You have to do the Dampe race before poe boost and Shadow, since you're going to need the hookshot in Shadow. I'll help you figure out where to place the bombs if you really need it, but I was thinking that you'd use your own judgment. The first bomb may take a few seconds to explode, but beginning with the second bomb you should be able to take the next one out while still sliding. Remember that TSA got 36" in real-time, so in a TAS you don't want to lose to that (plus or minus a few seconds due to his likely usage of the longshot in the last room.)

Thanks alot Xebra. Im trying it from the savestate at Death Moutain area and ill see if it desync's from there. Anyway, i cant wait to see the new sliding technique being implemented. Awesome run so far Guano. Edit: Desynced from that point. It only doesnt desync from the current most savestate. Looks like he'll have to redo it :(.

So, what is the trick to the super slide? I'm rolling into the bomb and holding Z and R and Down on the joypad and he will just get hit or slide for about 1/2 a second, stop, and backwalk.

If you stop sliding and backwalk that's probably the problem. I am under the impression you shouldn't be holding any particular direction while you slide, just leave the analog at neutral. Worth a shot?

Hahaha, I love how the child Link WIP ends with Gandondorf laughing and saying THANKS KID YOU JUST GAVE ME EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED. The End! Seriously, though, great stuff. A couple of things I wasn't clear on, but then I haven't read the whole thread and don't know the game extremely well. The bombchu stuff is excellent.

Seeing this made me wonder if it's possible to increase the sliding speed by dropping a second bomb with frame accuracy during a slide. I can understand a lot of reasons why it wouldn't, like the roll being a requirement every time instead of just the first, but worth messing with anyway.

I dont think its faster to do the super slide in Dampes grave because of the loading screen. If the record time is 36 seconds, thats pretty fast. The game time on this one is 48 seconds and actual time is like ~35 seconds I believe. I CANNOT GET THE DAMN BOOST!
