What is that? I don't understand
I think I can explain it. After you jump from the Treasure chest in the entrance room onto the climbing web, there are two skulltulas that try to drive you off. If the top one hits you in the precise spot it will damage boost you onto the ledge, which is much faster than climbing the remaining distance and dropping. Guano, please incorporate this into your tas before you move too much past. If my lowly ass could randomly do it, I know you can. (I'm very glad you're doing this, its awesome)

You can manipulate the position of the skulltula.

actually the skulltulas will only be positioned in 2 or 3 positions upon door entering. Upon entering 1 time, i jumped from the chest and got almost past the 1st one and he nailed me. The 2 time, I got past the 1st one and 2nd one. I dont remember where they were the 3rd time but I didnt even get close getting past the 1st enemy.

On a completely unrelated note, for those that didn't see it yet, Scott has suggested an alternative Deku Tree route.
Now we just need to figure out how to manipulate the fire into spreading throughout the tree. Hopefully there'll still be a way to get the Kokiri Emerald...

Forest Temple is probably the "easiest" temple right? I think that the Bottle Adventure would save more time than completing the game like I did last time. Would Bottle Adventure and an improved run of my last TAS be on different levels? Like would the Bottle Adventure obsolete whatever is posted? I got another question. In Jabu, there was ideas on talking to King Jabu and not talking to him. Not talking to him leaves us with sword glitching over him and over the gate he surrounds(this leaves me to pick up Ruto and carry her). Talking to him lets me go back with an empty bottle and catch a fish (this will leave out Ruto on the switch to the boomerang room), and I believe she will re-appear back in the chamber where I last talked to her. If estimating time is a problem, I guess just manually testing which is faster is the best solution. Now, for the bottle adventure, where would I catch a fish for that if I need one in Dodongo's Cavern? I guess I can catch a fish somewhere else quite fast?

My personal stance on Bottle Adventure is that it's a "severe glitch," and, because the trick is version-specific, a run using it should belong in a different category. I haven't really worked out a route for BA, to be honest, though I'd very much like to see a run with BA and find out how much time can be saved. If you do BA, the route will be quite different. Since you have to go to the Fishing Pond, you might as well spend 40 more seconds and collect the Golden Scale. If you're not doing BA, then it would make sense to skip the long trek to Lake Hylia altogether and bomb hover over King Zora. So I really don't know.

If its a "severe glitch" then I agree with mwl, it should either be included in this run or another run. I would personally rather see your run get improved without the bottle adventure trick.

Just because this isnt SDA doesnt mean we cannot make a separate category for this extreme glitch :)

But surely the point in making a TAS is to show the fastest possible way to theoretically reach the finish in the quickest possible time? The route I was thinking of was (starting from the end of Kokiri) Hyrule Field Spirit (learn Requiem;get bombchu's; play requiem and kill yourself) SAVE/QUIT Kokiri Lost Woods Goron CityDondongo's (get bomb bag) Hyrule Castle (learn lullaby; this is the greatest uncertainty of the whole run) Lon Lon Ranch (get bottle from cucco game; this is required for the bottle adventure and to defect thunderbolt to Ganondorf) Zora's river (blow boulder; use ground jump to skip owl and cucco to bypass waterfall) Zora's Domain (Skip King Zora and attempt another roll into jabu;I'll have a shot at this when the time comes; then again jumpslash if it doesn't come off) Jabu (Complete as usual; there should be two bombchu's left although only one is needed since bombs are available; wait you need one to cross the valley when doing Ganon early) Kill yourself (this can be done with a timed out bomb) SAVE/QUIT Kokiri * Hyrule Ganondorf Cutscene Temple of Time *This is a suggestion (Lost woods; Death Mountain; Magic Fairy;owl and follow on from there Last time Guano took by SDA's and TG's timing 1:15:30, I think this time it should take anywhere between 1:05 to 1:10. Adult Route Temple of Time GraveYard (get hookshot; test to see if its quicker to bomb hover up Dampe's roof) Shadow (Get hover boots and exit) Kakariko Death Mountain ** Goron City Lost Woods Forest Temple (Complete Forest Temple; getting the bow and boss Key and then glitching into the room below and levatating upto the elavator might be worth trying) Kokiri Lake Hylia (going to the domain and glitching under the ice might be worth trying) Steal Rod Bottle Adventure Temple of Time (Go back in time and then imeadiatley forward again) Ganon's Castle (Walk up seam; walk along seam to where entrance is below; Do hover boost then do a backflip and pull out a bombchu, this is what Acryte claims. I've never been able to pull this off my self though; Do superslide and then enter Ganon Castle) Ganons Tower (enter spirit chamber collect all jewels and kill the beamos to get an additional 5 bombs, hit diamond and collect 20 bombchus) Ganon's Central Tower (use bombs bombchu's and explosives to beat all three rooms, I suspect this will be hard to do) Ganondorf ( use bottle to deflect thunderbolt and then pause and equip sword) Continue as normal after that **This is a crucial decision - Great Fairy as an Adult Sorry if that was a bit messy but now I look back at that is skipping King Zora really worth it? I would estimate the Adult stuff would take about 50mins so Child + Adult = 1:58 (maybe)

I thought watching King Zora move was quicker than a Lon Lon Ranch deteur. Then again, I can't manipulate the super cuccos.
GraveYard (get hookshot; test to see if its quicker to bomb hover up Dampe's roof)
Also consider doing a sword glitch and charging a ground jump off the same bomb here to save a couple seconds. Do a short superslide off the same bomb for bonus points!
Forest Temple (Complete Forest Temple; getting the bow and boss Key and then glitching into the room below and levatating upto the elavator might be worth trying)
Wouldn't it be faster just to learn the prelude of light?
Ganon's Central Tower (use bombs bombchu's and explosives to beat all three rooms, I suspect this will be hard to do)
Don't forget you can use light arrows! On a related note, in Forest Temple, would it be faster to use the Endless Sword Glitch to fight the Stalfos?

You need to beat Forest to learn the prelude...

hm.. while you're in kakariko village, why don't you get the bottle there? Does it have to be the bottle from LLR ? YautjaElder did the chicken game in just over 3 minutes. If you can finish the child portion without the bottle you might even do it after getting the hookshot, if that allows for shortcuts. - ignore that, the game isn't available as adult. Or is the detour to LLR faster? I didn't time it.
Death Mountain [/b] ** Goron City **This is a crucial decision - Great Fairy as an Adult
can you explain why? getting magic as a child should be faster route-wise, as you can use the owl back to kakariko. Is it required for bottle adventure to work?

please define "severe" in a way that includes Bottle Adventure, but excludes all the raping done in the published run? I can understand that the version-specificness is a reason over at sda. Over here, version-specific tricks have been used in other runs, and I don't remember there being seperate categories.

Unless I'm mistaken, you cannot get either bottle involving cuckoos as an adult.

Not that I know of, but nevertheless you need magic to fire the light arrows against Ganondorf.

It could be because of the day/night cycle and getting into Hyrule Castle in time. If I recall correctly, it's always noon after completing Dodongo's Cavern. Isn't it possible to steal the rod as a child? The OoT glitch index at jaytheham.com says, "You can, apparently, also do this as child Link, but you have to do it while rolling off the rocks near the small stream." If so, why not do this as a child after getting the Golden Scale? This way, you can get an easy bottle and take the shortcut to Zora's Domain. Here are Acryte's steps to getting Light Arrows on B, posted for our convenience: 1. Deplete Deku Stick Supply to 0 2. Get fish in bottle 3. Plant Bean in lake hylia 4. Become Adult 5. Go get hoverboots early 6. Beat Forest temple (To get rid of shiek) 7. Ride beanplant to Fisherman's Pond 8. Go Fishing (20 rupees) 9. Equip Hover + cast fishing line (v1.0 only) 10. Move to door w/ line cast 11. Go back towards ToT 12. In hyrule field (Not in lake hylia) Pause and unpause (puts deku stick on B [DON'T PRESS B]) 13. Empty bottled fish and catch it again 14. Do backflip and then press bottle button and then B before you hit the ground. (puts bottle on B) 15. Go to ToT 16. Put fish on c-right and make sure deku nuts aren't equipped (not sure but to be safe). 17. Become child 18. Become Adult (light arrows are now on B) 19. Perform Ganon Early (bomb-boosted hover method since you don't have a sword for swordglitch method) 20. Perform Ganon's Tower Skip w/ bomb 21. Use bottle to reflect the energy ball 22. Hit him w/ light arrow 23. Pause and equip sword. 24. Hold him down w/ attacks (easiest w/ quickspins) till he is dead in 1 cycle.

Similar to every other Zelda game on this site? I suppose the original NES Zelda doesn't have a glitched out run; I guess someone needs to find some glitches for it.

I personally wouldn't want, that would be crazy, he should be able to do beat this in 1 hour and 45 mins.

It shouldn't take that long. He only has one forest temple to beat.

Hey mwl, if thats possible does that mean when he activates this as a kid, and then turns adult he will have the light arrows right away without having to go back to a child again? This would mean he could skip the Forest Temple, but I think if he doesn't have the bow, the light arrows on B won't work cause you still need the bow and working arrows. For the Bottle adventure if you use bombs on B, They will deplete in your inventory, I didn't know this at first and thought I had infinite bombs but I didnt. (But if that worked that means all he has to do is go to the forest temple and get his bow for the arrows) There isnt a question in my mind that tells me he shouldn't do the bottle glitch, for one thing its a cool glitch and it gets the faster time. I think we should carefully plan this out. We should be hoping to save an hour and beat this in 1 hour and 33 mins.
