Its possible to BLJ on the cannon slope outside the castle although its pretty much impossible in real time and very difficult to get while TASing, but you can get about 3-4 bljs, which is meaning less. I've gained hyperspeed at the top of the castle and managed to get down while still maintaining a little bit of speed, unfortunatley running through surface of the water doesn't seem to do anything, although my test aren't conclusive because I'm not travelling at near warp speed.

BTW, what prevents BLJ on the slope with the glass above it (that acts as a one-way mechanism in the first basement room)? Is it impossible on slippery slopes?

Yes it is impossible on slippery slopes because the movement is interrupted as soon as you land on it (Mario slides). Even if Mario could stand on it without sliding it is nowhere near steep enough to BLJ off anyway.

I don't think the steepness maters since you'd probably use the fact that it's a low ceiling, but it's slippery so the point is moot.

For a 120-star run: Is it possible to do a triple jump, then a wall jump for the star "Mysterious Mountainside" in TTM?

The ceiling seems pretty high for a low ceiling I doubt if Mario could gain any speed off it.

It's definitely too high to be a "low" ceiling, there's still quite some space between it and mario's head.

I'll test it out, will edit post later. edit: hmm I can't seem to find an invisible ceiling anywhere. BLJing near the ledge just brings me on top of the platform.

I wouldn't get too jumpy hear, although 2 people seem to claim its possible, personally I'd like to see a screen shot since its hard to tell what there talking about based on writing.

I think ShadowOfMyles is a pretty reliable source. I believe it if he says he's done it. This will need to have some serious looking into =)

Honestly, if Myles says it's true, it's nearly undoubtably true. Now, we just need to replicate it in a TAS and then perfect it till we've got atleast a 1-star completion, if not a zero. Crazy... I'm just glad that the 16-star run has been perfected quite well before this came along. A 1 or 0 star run is probably not as fun to watch.

I won't get my hopes up until I see an actual vid.

I think if a 1/0 star run is possible then I'm not sure if it should automatically remove the 16 star catagory. I personally think theres enough to differenciate the 2.

Of course it should obsolete the 16 star run, it uses the same exact glitches that that run uses. If anything, a 1 star run would legitimize a true glitchless 70 star run. Also if the claims are true that there is a BLJ in the basement.... *cough* I told you so *cough*

If a 1/0 star run is possible, I think it should definitely obsolete the 16 star one, as this is the ultimate demonstration of sequence breaking. Currently the Reverse BA OoT run in the making skips a larger percentage of OoT than the 16 star run does for SM 64, but if a 1/0 star run comes along then that will skip the largest percentage of all.

Not that I doubt what is being said or anything, but they are being very vague which is annoying. I've been messing around and the ledge outside LLL is very suspect so it wouldn't surprise me if we can trigger a BLJ there. The ledge is strange, placing Mario on the edge at specific angles can cause rapid slipping animation, I've managed to get him standing on it almost horizontally and I've managed to get him to grab onto it as if it were a high ledge. So there is definitely potential here, but I've yet to trigger a BLJ. I'll keep testing and get back to you all if I pull something off.

This should absolutely obsolete a 16 star run...this may be a tad hypocritical (in my case), but I don't really see the point in having a 16 star run category. Anyway, my input.

That is why I specifically wrote "If the claims are true" I was just just kidding around anyway :)

On a note not related to 0 star running, I think it should be possible to somehow glitch through the door in the cabin at the bottom of CCM. Either by BLJing on the elevator that takes you to the pink bob-omb, or by using the penguin on top of the cabin like you use the bunny to go through doors in the basement.

And the point of glitching through that door would be...? (And besides, that door is a loading point so it wouldn't bring you inside the cabin.)

I think we should put aside all discussion except for this basement BLJ spot until either it is proven that it works or that it is a hoax.
