The SMB run was a smaller improvement over the previous run than this was, had less yes votes, and was submitted later than this. I guess it just comes down to how much the encoders like the game, huh...

SL acknowledged that he had seen it and that he would test it. i had the video uploaded only for that, so i deleted it to keep the surprise if it turns out to be faster. I'll reupload it if it turns out to be slower (or by some coincidence, the same).

I didn't see your vid before it got deleted Mapler. What is so important that it's keeping SL's awesome run from being published? Myles

Thanks, who discovered this? Good to see that SL added it to his run already. Myles

mapler90210, for discovering that route change towards the end of BitS. This saved a lot of time. I just wish he'd found it before I submitted the first version of this run. ;) But thanks a lot anyway.
I believe it was mapler90210. A nice little improvement. It's cool to see that there are (were) still unique optimisations in this game.

mr_roberts_z: I just watched your current WIP once again. You completed JRB in one go and seemed to wanted to do BoB afterwards. Was this just to tease us on how you are doing the Mario wings to the sky star or are you planning on getting the red switch activated beforehand?

Only if you watched the YouTube version, which cut off somewhat ambiguously; the "full" 12 star WIP version (which I wasn't able to encode, for some reason) includes TotWC, right before going into BoB. In any case, with another huge improvement found, it comes time to go back and redo old stuff before doing anything else, again.

Shame on me. I just remembered you going for BoB, yet I thought that you went there directly after canceling the Aquarium. How are you redoing those parts? Hexedit? "Rewind" to those places and redo everything else just like it's in your current WIP?

What are you redoing? the 1 frame improvement outside, and the few frame improvement from using a different staircase? How many stars were you at before this?

Over two seconds, almost as much time saved as the whole JRB improvement...Definitely worth it.

If by "few frame" you mean "about 2 and a half seconds, therefore definitely worth it", then yes.

why does "huge" link back to SL's run? is the improvement on that?

Yep because SL used the other stairs for the blj and a slightly better strat outside i think.

isn't there two BLJ's that can be improved? the one into BitDW and the one into PSS. that's 4-5 seconds.
