Tested Eye to Eye, did not work, it also confirmed there is a max wallkick speed. It's quite high though... but it wasn't enough to get me through the eye to eye wall because I was so high on the ceiling. This is uncontrollable though, Mario has to be at the heights of the ceiling while wallkicking very fast. Edit: Nevermind about the max wallkick speed, just some weird occurance happened while testing it, each wallkick I did took off some speed, but I managed to gain a bit more with each wallkick, but it is too time consuming.

Actually in my video you can notice I went towards the start with hyper speed, I could've also went towards the pole area as well. But this was specific to the pillars because of it's angled sides. Edit: Well, you can go towards the start, but you can't go towards the pole area. For some reason if you go for the other side of the pillar to wallkick toward that area, you hit an invisible wall, unlike the other side.

Enter Tiny-Huge Island with tiny Mario and big Island. Go to the stone square that creates black balls. Do a ton of wall kicks inside the square and make sure Mario leaves the square facing the water. Then let's see how many frames it takes for Mario to hit the invisible wall on the other side of the water. Sound good? Myles
Attempting to obtain the impossible to reach coin in that level?
I do have an idea for that coin, but it would be very difficult and time consuming without TAS. But afterall, this is the place to have a TAS player test it for me, so I'll post it here. Get into the hidden Curtis Bright room using either the BLJ or Curtis' swim method. Then when you're in the Bright room, line Mario up with the gap in the wall and attempt to do a triple jump dive through the gap toward the coin, get the coin, and turn right into the water at the beginning of the level after getting the coin. I know, there's not much room in there, but I imagine a TAS player could manage the triple jump just barely. After initiating the triple jump, the other stuff I mentioned should be pretty easy. Mario will have more than enough height and distance to get the coin, and should be able to turn right fast enough to avoid falling to death. If anyone here wants to test it, go right ahead... and post the results. Myles

EDIT:nvm, i went further and now the walls are behaving like....walls.

Not too bad. Lack of motivation sometimes kills progress, but you know.

I and SS are working on it. We intended to keep it secret, but Brian told SL, and SL decided to be an asshole and tell everyone. :)

Well, then maybe you shouldn't have been stupid enough to: 1. Tell Brian, who you KNEW I talked to. 2. Harass me over MSN about 2 frames that you saved in a part of the run that, when I did it, had never been done before. I know you personally didn't do this, but your little butt-buddy did.

Running around telling people about the run is still stupid and immature..

He promised he would keep it secret. Well you were an idiot to trust him, weren't you? Running around telling people about the run is still stupid and immature.. And harassing someone over a 2 frame gain isn't? Don't be hypocrites, now.

I knew that someone had found a large time saver, but I didn't know a run was being worked on till this broke out. I remember mentioning to SL a while ago that I thought 40 frames might be possible which now seems just about right. Don't worry, I'm pretty much burned out from TASing this game, but I still look for stuff that might be useful for the 70 or 120 star run, I've already mentioned a 20+ second time saver to R_z for later on in his run.

Or at least foolish. But honestly, who cares if its secret? You will only surprise the people who read this thread in this forum.

I prefer anticipating a run by tracking WIPs, and giving feedback than to just be surprised to see it on workbench one day.

We only told friends that we knew (or thought) were trustable, and that doesn't make SL less of a jerk for running around telling everyone. Oh well, I doubt many people care about this argument, let's go back on-topic. SS: I saved over 40 frames in BitFS alone. :)

you were probably aware of this, but in BitS, it could be a good idea to intentionally waste a frame or two if the elevator positions are bad (or just to see if it makes them better than they are).
