I dunno if he'll pick it up later but for now he's working on the 100%. Somewhere around 20% done.

To anyone who's still wondering about the legitimacy of the walk underwater and stand on slopes "glitches," read this PM I got on YouTube today. From: ingx32 KrohnIndustry... hi if you noticed in your subscribers list that the account "ingx24" (my old account) that is subscribed to your videos, here's what happened. That guy "KrohnIndustry", who faked all that sm64 stuff, conspired with someone else to obtain my password to youtube, and delete my account. Why? Because he was sick of me accusing him of cheating in star fox 64. He is very widely known in the star fox 64 community for having cheated so many times, and he currently has a proof policy at N64HS (considered to be the official scoreboard for star fox 64) where he can only submit full level videos as proof. Every time I found proof of him cheating, and presented it to him/other people, he followed the same pattern: 1. Make up some lame-ass excuse/explanation for why the proof can't be fake. 2. Flame me when I pointed out how flawed that explanation is. 3. Post up a video on his channel that is insufficient proof that he didn't cheat and give it a very arrogant and offensive title. 4. When I pointed out how insufficient the proof was, he would flame me again and get as many other people as possible to flame me as well. (and mark down my comments). Sound familiar? This is exactly what he did to you and the other tasers with that sm64 thing. So, he was so sick of me accusing him of cheating that he decided to get "revenge" and hack and delete my account. He also hacked all of my other accounts that had the same password as my youtube account. This guy has some serious problems. Can't honestly say I'm surprised. But yeah, this should hopefully clear up any remaining doubts that people might still have...

Oh cool, my pm was posted here already :D I've actually had an account here for quite a while, but I haven't used it much until now. Thankfully, it doesn't seem like my account here was hacked... *looks around cautiously* *changes password for tasvideos account while no one's looking*

i would prefer to see a 120 run with every possible glitch than a 70 star run that you have to limit yourself to "the way it was intended to be played". With all the glitch possible, I would really prefer a 120 stars run.

Once again, for people who want to see a TAS of this game that doesnt really have any set goal except trying to be entertaining, I made this new run- http://youtube.com/watch?v=nGyUvLMfYcE Uhh, there's a link to the m64 in the descrpition if needed.

Yeah, again I enjoyed some of the antics that are not speed oriented -- I guess in that sense I liked the 16 star one better as it had more time. I still think it's too bad that most people feel that this sort of awesomeness should be relegated to the wastelands of youtube.

I liked watching you elaborately scale the castle just to end up in the front door. That was pretty funny.

Here's a little something I made: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1684930290/BitDW%20without%20text.m64 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UQ3SRR6G I have it on youtube too but I don't know how to use x264 so the quality came out pretty bad It beats BitDW in 16.2 with text message. This one is without text message. 2 frames faster than the latest BitDW TAS of a 0 star run Enjoy

Microstorage doesn't work with emu files that begin from savestates.

You're not able to download it?
"Genuine self-esteem, however, consists not of causeless feelings, but of certain knowledge about yourself. It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the kind of person able to deal with reality. It is the conviction — based on the evidence of your own volitional functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success." - Onkar Ghate

That's what his second link is. It would be better methinks to just zip them together and megaupload them.

I uploaded the m64 to microstorage and the st to megaupload If any of the links doesn't work, tell me to upload them somewhere else too

Ah, my mistake (I thought the MU link had an .avi for some reason). Looks good, maybe you can find more improvements in the other levels.

But yeah, things like this should be proof enough that certain animation routines cause various other things to be overlooked. You can fall into a bottomless pit and continue having a flaming ass, long after the health depletes to 0, and the death animation doesnt really seem to care if you transition in and out of water, etc... there's probably a way to time touching the low water level switch in WDW so that you lose all your health, drowning, right before the water level is low enough so that you'd be standing (i.e. on a slightly higher place like by the blue coin switch), and I would imagine mario does the drowning-death animation on a dry surface. Nothing short of death and a burning ass, in my memory, have properties like this.
Slightly offtopic, I remember finding an address for Banjo's "animation state" in BK. It screwed up a lot of things if you held it to almost any value besides walking. I was trying to get a "begin flight anywhere" code, but didn't get one. More ontopic, you need to be on-ground or in water to die, you can see this fairly easily on console by achieving a falling death jumping from the start of the Vanish Cap course and falling off (with 0 life) so you end up in the moat (and get drowning animation immediately, iirc). I think fire just burns you for 3 damage over X time, not having any check for death itself...but I'm just guessing.

Just to do with timesavers, this isn't a trick, but the Japanese version of the rom is definitely faster for a 0 star TAS, not by much, but it is a timesaver

Per the rules for this site, you need a good justification for using a non-English ROM, e.g. for better music (Castlevania 3), glitches that don't exist in the English version (Chrono Trigger), higher difficulty, etc. Shorter text bubbles isn't a good reason because it doesn't actually contribute anything to the gameplay.

Yeah, you're right. My understanding of those rules were that anything that contributed to speed was allowed, but thanks for correcting me. I'd hate to start a TAS and finish it, just to be turned down because of that.
