Correct. After pressing C^, you can't jump or otherwise control Mario until you fall off a ledge, which is what is done in BoB.
Oh. I figured it could be cancelled at any time with A or Cv. I guess that limits its applications even more.

Hey if any of you guys feel like it, maybe you can try to beat the time I get in this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuv-idQL880 Thanks.

While I'm at it: A friend of mine wondered if it was possible to use the first part of the hyperspeed flying glitch to get the star "Mario Wings to the Sky" capless, cannonless. What I mean is, do the BLJs and then the C^ and hyperspeed triple jump part, but don't use the wing cap. And try to find a way to get up to the rings (if it's possible to jump that high). This may not be possible though. I'm just asking to see if anyone's interested in trying again.

Well, what's the highest point in the level that you can jump from? And how high above that is the highest ring you have to reach? If that's higher than the peak of a triple jump, then it's impossible to do without a cap.

the highest coin is wayyyyy higher than the peak of a triple jump plus the height of the tallest point in which you can jump from. But I think what Myles is talking about is the super high double jump that you can do without a wingcap. Also, I haven't actually performed this trick, but it seems to me that you can't turn Mario while facing forwards, because he's still in c^ mode. even with this new trick, it's still a long way off until we get this star done cc less

Basically, a triple jump doesn't go any higher when under the effect of a C^ blj. Only the jump and double jump

Basically, I don't know, but I assume so, because you can't control the height of a tj anyway.

A good idea, but I don't see this being possible.

Since zOMG found how to get 12.2 on the secret slide. Will the up and coming 120 star TAS use it?

Could you use the C^ glitch plus a BLJ to get up the first part of the slide faster? . . that would have been a good TAS challenge :P

cool vids... being a mario-TASing-noob, can the BLJ-speed be combined with kickjumping to make it up higher (though not sliding)? or get more speed by using the stairs more often perhaps

Old or not, I see mario bouncing from backwards hyper- (ok fine, super) speed to forwards hyperspeed on walls that I can see with my eyes. I would like to know more.

Hey guys, I'm going to make a 70 star run BLJless and I can't think of a route on my own, so I need peoples help, and hopefully if everything goes according to plan I will submit this run. Thanks guys ^^ Also don't worry, I'm 100% dedicated to this run.

You can use my oft-copied and pasted 70 star list if you want. Most of the stars should be the same.

But was that created with a non blj route in mind?

Yep. I even started a (pretty suboptimal) WIP, along with the route. It's somewhere in this topic...somewhere.
