sick new discovery http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2cI7GWVmjg
That was found in January... Has anything that is actually new popped up lately? I haven't been keeping up with SM64 since around mid-July (aside from the 0 Star run...since I was an author).
I've heard the Japanese TASers were putting the 120-star run on hold and are currently TASing a BLJless 70-star run. But I did see this video recently. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJqzNFw5MTE

Talked to Nothing (Japanese TASer) recently. He said that 25 stars were done in the "120 stars" TAS. They are currently in DDD, improving the 100 coins star. As for the "70 stars BLJless" TAS, it is currently in WDW. 42 stars are currently done.

Aren't you and the rest of the 0 star team helping them? I remember from the WIP encode you posted of the first few stars, your names were listed as contributors.

I'm laughing hysterically after watching this because I was just talking with someone about it the other day and they said it would be impossible. XD

Not disappeared, moved: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12060 It makes sense, too, since the bot isn't M64-specific but N64-general.

OK, that makes sense. I had just heard before that the server randomly deletes comments sometimes and I figured this was one of those instances.

The server has its problems sometimes, yes, but given that we're all here for free, I don't think we should complain, but rather be thankful for what we get :) On the other hand, sometimes they DO delete my posts by hand, but that's an entirely unrelated story.

I know that it's impossible to go near the door in the moat outside the castle, because of some barrier, but what would happen if you went near an underwater door and got closer? I would check, but I have no idea how to.

I'm no expert, but from what I remember from the previous pages, nothing happens, Mario just stays in the swimming animation and he doesn't open the door. There have been attempts to get at the door at very high speed (both horizontal and vertical) to skip the swimming animation altogether, but they all failed as far as I know. You should wait for some more autoritative answer from experts.

That's impressive. That is what TAS is. Doing stuff like that.
When TAS does Quake 1, SDA will declare war. The Prince doth arrive he doth please.

My eyes weren't ready for this o.O When they started the first blj I was like "wait, no, they CAN'T do that there :O", and while the second blj happens in a less surprising location, its effects were unexpected too. Yes vote.

I don't know the game and I wonder why the stars in the video start at 77 and end up being 120. Just curious.

Thanks. I've noticed something was missing in the link. I have one question about Collect the Caps. Have the SM64 team ever tried BLJing up the sub (gaining speed) and wall jumping all around through the back wall into the star?
