With all the talk about multiplayer, this hack should have it's own topic.
So yea, how's it going? Currently TASing: Nothing

If you're running this hack can you collect multiple stars from a level in one run? That might make an interesting TAS.

yah you can get 2 stars in 1 trip ( i played by myself :( and switched controllers) and got both lil penguin lost and the first slide star in CCM at the same time. some coins and enemies and stuff unload if you're too far away from each other though so you can't just totally diverge into 2 different stars/ split 100 coin routes into 2 opposite directions.

“Yes, sub 41. Let the jokes begin.” what’s that about? and how does luck play a part in this star? the way Wiggler moves at the beginning?

Sum 41. :P As for the lag "luck," it was just enemy placement from the pipe to the cave I think. I suppose there was less on screen or something.

People have asked this a lot so, here is the proof: American version is faster than Japanese version for 0 star TAS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHop9Ao3qMQ About the 120 star TAS: 98 stars done.

Interesting how the Japanese version does appear faster all the way until the very last block of text.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

European version faster...? Is there a comparision for that too or did you mean to write American version?

I'm not sure if anyone would do it, but I'd be interested in seeing a similar comparison of the (J) vs (U) for a 120 star run.

Well, 0 star comparison was easy to do but, for 120 star run comparison, you'd basically have to do another new run on Japanese version due to luck manipulation.

It would be easier to just compare the different parts (texts). It wouldn't be 100% accurate though.

The lag from entering/exiting stages is a bigger deal over time than text differences for a 120 run. Also, this page is related for anyone interested: http://sm64.org/wiki/index.php/SM64_versions

I thought the Japanese version had stars that could be done faster because of glitches which weren't in the U version like the one in BBH and the star in JJB that usually requires the cannon.
