I don't think we have to worry about that changing, unless someone has discovered some trick that lets you skip most of the game while still collecting 120 stars.

maybe Yoshi can be made to give 120 stars instead of 100 lives ;) how'd you find Yoshi? first get 100 lives and then he'd be there of course ;)

I heard about that quite some time ago and I think that was a beta version glitch which was removed before the release of M64. If you're refering to meeting Yoshi then yes its possible to get on top of the castle with 0 stars but yoshi doesn't appear till you collect 120 stars. Nintendo do make some really weird assumptions at times.

There's no way to mainuplate Yoshi to give you 120 stars instead of 100 lives. O_o

There isnt really any teleportation in this game, you can however get very fast with a set of stairs, an upwards moving platform, or a sufficiently steep slope. You can also squeeze through some thin walls/ceilings. These techiniques are already used in the 16-star run.
This signature is much better than its previous version.

Since the distance between one frame and the next is so great giving the impression of teleporting. Boomb omb Battlefield is perfect demonstatration of this.

Obviously, i'm going to finish this, but i don't work on it everyday. Reasons i don't work on it everyday are: - other priorities: real life must come first, especially on a run that easily takes months and months to be finished. - sometimes i got free time, but i'm not in the mood to work on it. I can say that i won't work on it again until august, because of job issues.
