Hey there! As a VVVVVV Speedrunner, I wanted to have a look into TASing the game. I have seen a few TASed runs of it (by Masterjun3 or Scepheo) and know that the files are in .wtf format. However, I couldn't get the game to run in Hourglass r81. The game shows up in the task manager, but doesn't open a window. It starts outside of Hourglass normally. Both VVVVVV and Hourglass are running on Windows XP compatibility. I tried changing a few settings (including Multithreading), though it didn't make a difference. Opening an already existing .wtf file didn't work either. Thanks in advance for your help, tzann

Don't use compatibility mode with Hourglass, ever. It causes desyncs. Your best bet is using a XP VM for TASing in Hourglass, it's kinda broken on newer Windows OSes. You can try disabling Multithreading though, it's what causes the most incompatibilities afaik.

Right, so I got around to setting up an XP VM. However, I can't get the VVVVVV .exe file to run, I instead get the error message: "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect." It's the same .exe file I used on Windows 7. I installed both Adobe Flash & DirectX on the VM. Any ideas what the problem might be?
