Yo guys, I'm currently trying to do a Solo run in Mario Party 9, however I have big troubles with manipulating the dice block as it seems I can not get different numbers in one turn, e.g. always 5 in my first turn, always 2 in my second one and so on. Does anyone have an idea what I can do to manipulate the dice in order to get the number I really want? Thanks in advance! ;)

Nice to hear you're doing a run of this game! You could try changing your input while taking the previous turn (or the one before that) or during a minigame. Test out all different things, like pausing, switching between your available Dice Blocks, and wasting frames on different screens. If the roll is randomly chosen, there should be a way to manipulate it.

Maybe the numbers you will roll are choosen right before the game start, to avoid cheating by saving before a roll then restart to roll something else. I remember something similar in Mario Part 7 where I tried to cheat like that.

mario party 3 could definitely manipulate the rolls in RTA with the save feature but i don't know if it could be TASed that way

I recall trying to manipulate Dice Rolls in Mario Party DS, but proved futile. I may look into it again to see if it works the same in all of them and report back, but until then, I would suggest the ideas that CoolKirby had listed.

I tested it out and I was able to get a different roll by both waiting 30 frames and by going back (using B) and returning to that Dice Block. It should be pretty straightforward, though it takes longer than in older Mario Party games. Note that unlike all the previous games, MP9 seems to somewhat simulate an actual die slowly spinning around and landing on one of six numbers, depending on when you hit it. Also, you can manipulate CPU rolls while keeping your roll the same by hitting the block a frame earlier or later. You could probably set up a chain of three CPU six-rolls if you manipulate well enough. It should be fun to test!
