Well, now that it seems a rerecording VBA has been produced... let's get down to the dirty work of listing the probably half billion gameboy games that'd be worthy of running. Running off of a list here, which I'm fairly sure doesn't include GBC games. But then, there are enough games out there that even with only oldschool GB games, this list is going to be big in the end. That being said, I honestly don't remember TOO many old GB games. :x By all means, add! Another annoying thing is a lot of GB games are rehashes of NES games. Also, I think we need us a Gameboy forum now. What say you? Going through my folders, I'll add the following: Battletoads (Isn't the GB one different? >>) Megaman Xtreme (Bahaha, Chibi-X....) Metal Walker (No one I've ever known has played this... ><) LoZ: Oracle of Ages/Seasons Metal Gear Solid And, if GBA runs -are- going to be allowed... and I'm sure people will do them whether or not they'll be accepted to the site or not...: A trio of Castlevania games. Super Robot Wars games. Rockman Zero games. Mario and Luigi. Advance Wars games. Shining Soul games. Two Metroids. Naruto games. One Piece games. Etc etc etc. So...yeah. Additions?

Ooh! Ooh! How about the Bomberman GB series? Or you could try Pocket Bomberman, just to show how Bomberman works as a platformer without all those random walls.

Shantae. Also, there are two gb Kirby's Dream Land games, but there's also the spinoff ones, which I think Block Ball and Tilt N Tumble would be good. And yeah, DK '94 would be a nice one to see.

Why the Wars series? At least in AW and AW2, the AI is predictable so optimal routes can be performed by humans.

if/when GBA movies are allowed: Elevator Action - fast-paced game, could be pretty impressive Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - can be beaten very quickly, especially with abusing luck Zelda 3 (part of 4 swords) - if it records properly it could be done here since the SNES one still desyncs recording Super Dodgeball Advance Double Dragon Advance - most enemies can be knocked off to instant death with enough skill, should make a good time attack... err, I guess Phil already mentioned this one Bomberman Tournament - a little boring to play but maybe fun to watch if it can be done fast enough Megaman Battle Network (whichever one is shortest) - maybe worthwhile

More straightforward for timeattacking: Wario Blast Mega Man GB series (I think there's at least 4 of them) Batman Batman-The animated series ** a cool game, but tough ** Mario Land Mario Land 2, normal and 100% runs Castlevania Adventure series Boomer's Adventures in Asmik World Bart Simpson's Escape from Camp Deadly Battletoads (two of them) ** impossibly tough games ** Ren and Stimpy ** for the memories ** Operation C ** hunter or spread?? ** Kwirk ** a cute puzzle game ** Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (3 of them I think) More complex but potentially sweet: Zelda: Link's Awakening Knight's Quest Sword of Hope (I believe there's also a sequel) Final Fantasy Legend series ** all amazing, but 2 is the best ** Final Fantasy Adventure ** this would be pretty badass ** Ultima: Runes of Virtue (1 and 2) ** different from other Ultima games, these are actually single-character puzzle/dungeon crawlers ** I have a whole bunch of games, I'll have to check when I get home.

Links Awakening with or without the screen jump glitch. Because with it you can beat it in 5 or 6 minutes.

I can't really say I've got GB\GBC games that come to mind, but I know I want to see some GBA sames. There are, of course, the two Metroid games. I'm pretty sure Megafrost would be VERY interested in doing one of these runs...possible even a 1% Metroid Fusion (although I think he wants to work with Metroid Zero Mission now...) I'd really want to see the Mega Man Zero games. I'm not really sure I know how to do a run for those games, but hmmm. Then there's Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. Although I might not be sure of what abilities to grab and such, I've got a very good idea of the path to take and I think I'd actually enjoy working on this sort of run. Anyways, I imagine I'll be putting my money where my mouth is when I get home...well, assuming the usual anime distractions don't...distract, hehehe.

Here's a game I'm sure you've never heard of: Kuru Kuru Kururin ... It's a quirky little game that begs for a time attack. You have to guide a spinning stick through levels, touch a wall and you die.

I would love to see these, but they are going to be LONG. Well maybe you could shorten MMBN significantly if evading random battles is possible. You can manipulate luck to get good chips to battles you need to fight so those wouldn't take so long. I doubt FFTA could be done very quickly, but then again, I haven't played too much of it. Anyway, looking forward to any run of this game too. Apart from these I'd like to see Castlevania games on GBA. Played all of them once and I think they would be make awesome time attacks and the shortest routes aren't that long.

Random battles can be avoided in the MMBN games, but the more you avoid them the more likely they are to happen. And at least one of the MMBN games has a slot machine thing that gives out ultra-good chips if you're really lucky. FFTA only has 25 required battles, many of which are small, and there are lots of really cheap but random abilities just begging to be abused with perfect luck. I'm guessing it can be done in under 2.5 hours. ((edit: 30 -> 25 due to my stupidity, but 2->2.5 due to the unfortunately really long unskippable intro))

Yes. Kind of. There are two Battletoads games on the Game Boy. The one simply called "Battletoads" is completely different from the NES version. The one called "Battletoads in Ragnarok's World" is a port of the NES version with some levels removed. Both, I would argue, are harder than the NES game(The first one in particular).

I don't think any level in any video game has gotten my character killed quite as often as level 5 in Battletoads GB. Pure, undiluted evil, complete with bouncing brain. I eventually got to the point where I could play it near flawlessly, in part because that was the only way to survive it.

Wonder how fast one could take down Dragon Quest Monsters (1 or 2 - though 2 seems more than a little longer >>;) ... Or... how about the remake of Donkey Kong? I...vaguely remember it being a big deal for the GBC. On that note - Mario vs Donkey Kong. I can see it now...people trying to shave fractions of a second off... >>;

Fire Emblem might be somewhat fast with luck manipulation. Of course, FE's luck manipulation would work completely differently from any other game.

Okay, so you've got the ol' Supie Mario and Magaggie Man games. But now I'm giving some thought to the Kirby games. For Kirby's Dream Land 1, you could not only set it to hard mode with the Extra Game code but also force a no-damage run by setting lives and health to 1 with the Debug Mode code. That would look pretty sweet. For Kirby's Dream Land 2, I'm wondering if the run should collect all the Rainbow Drops or not. You could probably do it both ways, to show both endings. Or you could make one a 100% run where you go back and play the bonus games perfectly to get the other 6%. And as for Kirby's Tilt 'n' Tumble, how is the tilt input emulated? I don't know very much about that. But mostly I've been trying out Bomberman games to see which ones would be good. I mentioned Pocket Bomberman would be great, and now I think Bomberman Quest would be a nice game to see done, probably by someone who's into extreme item management. If you want more traditional Bomberman games, I would guess that Bomberman GB 2 and Bomberman Max would be okay games.

I dunno how Kirby's tilt game was handled, but the two GBA games I've emulated (Mawaru! Made in Wario = ><) used the L/R triggers for tilting left and right.
