Hey everyone, so i tried playing some Pokemon Fire Red on Bizhawk because it became my favourite emulator even for casual play but i stumbled upon a big problem with the save types as Pokemon requires the 128k Flash Save Type instead of the normal 64k to be able to save ingame. So not be able to save ingame makes the game unplayable on bizhawk because you need to save the game at the end to reload it otherwise you could just use savestates. So my question is, is it somehow possible to change the savetype or is it possible to implement that on some of the next versions? Thanks in advance

I just checked this against 1.9.4 and it saved properly. Pokemon - FireRed Version (USA) SHA1:41CB23D8DCCC8EBD7C649CD8FBB58EEACE6E2FDC MD5:E26EE0D44E809351C8CE2D73C7400CDD Were you using another version? Was it the Japanese version? Was it the European Version? Was it Rev A?

Yeah i just checked it with Fire Red 1.0 and it worked as well. I was using a romhack and thought it would be the same as with fire red since it is based on fire red... i'm not really sure how bizhawk decides on what save type it should use. So since there is no way to implement that for every rom hack out there, is there a way to change the save type manually?
