Goals

Emulator used:
  • FCEUX 2.2.2
  • Plays the puzzle mode
  • Aims for fastest real-time
There are 90 levels in puzzle mode of this game. (Sorry, I made a mistake. There are 90 levels in this game instead of 100.)In each level the pattern of the blocks are fixed. Players have to use the blocks provided to clear up all the blocks to clear a level. The highlight of the video is how to use the least time to dedonate all the blocks.

ars4326: Claimed for judging!
ars4326: Hi, fcxiaopengyou. Good work on completing this 100-level project! In particular, the ones where multiple pieces had to be deployed on-screen especially stood out to me (e.g. 9, 60, 75, & 100) and differentiated from what might be seen in an RTA playthrough. Seeing the various puzzle solutions play out was noteworthy, as well. All in all, the tech quality demonstrated here certainly meets the standard for site publication.
Accepting for publication to the Vault!

I'll get a temp encode up so that people can give feedback. EDIT: Temp encode is up: Link to video As for the run itself, it's not the most exciting run in the world. It appears to be well executed, however. Therefore, I'm voting No on entertainment and Yes for publishing to the Vault.

Wow, nobody else has commented on this? Admittedly, I didn't check this out until now either, but that's still sort of sad. I'm guessing that since this is a puzzle mode, the pieces are not random. In this case, there's not much work to do to get the fastest solution. A TAS can only get a slightly faster time than a realtime player can, so this is a situation sort of like Myst. I didn't finish watching this, so I probably shouldn't vote. However, my vote is No for entertainment. The puzzle game moves along fairly well, but it gets old. My favorite bit of the entertainment was hearing tunes from the Dragon Warrior games in the music when you start.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

Strange game. Voting yes, but just because I’ve never seen this before.

Thanks for the encode fsvgm777 Since is the puzzle mode, I see there's not much space to display TASlike moves, so the appealing lies more on the puzzle themselves. Level 9-3 (21:08 on the encode) was pretty much the only level that looked impressive in the sense that it distinguishes from other levels because of how fast you moves the pieces around. I haven't played this version, but I have played Tetris Blast for the GB. That said, I would really like to see the Vs. Mode done on that game, it should be a lot quicker and more appealing IMO. Even including both rounds should be fast enough. All in all, I think is an ok submission & I'll give it a weak yes for entertaining

No vote. It's exactly the same as the currently published Tetris movies, only longer and more boring. The good part about the other movies is that they did lend some merit for TASing, for example manipulating the color of blocks. This one just looks like a guy plays Tetris really good for a while.
effort on the first draft means less effort on any draft thereafter - some loser

I think there's should be a special category for TAS like this, I'd love to see game like road avenger and Dragons Lair in here as well, just because but it has to be a dark dungeon!

While not the most entertaining genre around, it's still cool to see puzzle TASes every once in a while. Guess it gets a 'meh' vote from me.
