Submission Text Full Submission Page
Played mode B untill end of track 5 (it repeats forever). Times for each track were:

0 = 40.19 (easy version of track 1)
1 = 45:42
2 = 50:25
3 = 51:02
4 = 46:64
5 = 36:65

It was very important to use the trick of entering a ramp going up to shorten the jump distance, and entering the ramp going down to lenghten it. that way i could fall more precisely where i wanted.

(I'm copy / pasting the following text from the track 1 only version)

I wouldnt be able to explain the tricks better than Superninja, so, here it is in his own words:

For future Excitebike timeattackers, here's a description of some of the exploitable tricks:
-Use the B button to maintain your velocity while on the ground, but release it in the air to let your engine cool off
-Holding right while in the air increases your velocity slighty. However, you cannot land while tilted all the way forwards, so just before you land, press left.
-After landing like this, you will bounce on your front wheel. Hold right to increase your velocity. This time, you don't have to press left to avoid crashing, even though you're tilted all the way forwards.
-In a total violation of real-life physics, jumping off some ramps increases your forward velocity significantly. This is where your main speed boosts come from.
-While going off a ramp, you can change lanes to affect the distance you jump slightly. Up decreases the distance slightly, while going down increases the distance slighty. This is because your bike does not move while in the air, but its landing position (i.e. the lane) changes.

I would add these explanations:
- the only ramps that add horizontal speed are the type H ramps (small 90° triangle based prism). this run uses 5 of these ramps (there are 6 on the track).
- B button has better acceleration than A and doesnt slow you down if you have more speed than maximum normal speed.
- Slows down a bit the bike to be able to get 5 or else it would jump over one of them on the first lap

Not that it matters much, but track 5 is 36:65. Good job - yes here.

Wheee... One thing, your submission contains some text from the previous version which doesn't apply to this version: >this run uses 5 of these ramps (there are 6 on the track). >- Slows down a bit the bike to be able to get 5 or else it would jump over one of them on the first lap Not that it matters much, the video says it all.

Very good good, i'm glad I made the decision to wait to upload your last Excitebike run to archive.org. Your becoming the next Walker Boh; improving your own runs over and over and causing havok for the encoders heheh.

tried every rom that is avaliable and it still desynchs for me. you get past the first jump on the first track and you tilt foward to much and crash. things go wrong from there.

Oh it's horrible watch as i said before. U did it pretty well FODA, especially Last 2 Stages. I give it 4.9 stars out of 5. You played a little slowly in some initial track's first round. anyway it's still awesome.

you are talking about track 3 first lap, right? there was no way around it, the ramps are in such way that it cant be much faster than that... oh well, track 4 and 5 make up for that slow part of the video :)

It looked to me like FODA tripped up a little on Track 2. . . And Track 3 was a rather slow run. He also missed a Cooldown Point in Track 5, if I'm not mistaken. But otherwise, this is a really good run. Not flawless, but really good. And FODA seems to be a bit of a showoff, as well. Never fails to amuse me when he makes the other bikers wipe out. Hah. Vote: Yes Reasons: Because all but one or two tracks, and perhaps a few moment in the other tracks, are played perfectly. Beyond what the people at Nintendo were intending, perhaps. Hooray for exploits! Advice: I've got nothing.
I'm not that hard to find... if you know where to look. -=( http://jolikmc.tumblr.com )=-

that cooldown point would make no difference to take. "i went for it" even though it was impossible, just to show it was impossible :P but was really not needed. :) yea i'm a show-off you got that right hehehe

Awesome! Finally a complete run of Excitebike. Does this one automatically get a star because the 1-lap version did? And yes, Track 4 was awesome. That's a yes vote.

actually, shakespeare, you played on training version of track 3, not real one. win it and the next one will be the real track 3 (because you chose to start on track 3, you had to play its easy version first...)

I voted yes mainly do to the way the run looks. He moves and plays with the riders and still gets amazing times. Track 5 was AWSOME.

No FODA, Did'nt you nitice in First (2) Track you were 5 sec Late than previous... Just bcz that you were pressing Left/right more, It makes your Jump lower. The same you did in Track 3. In the Start you did'nt use (B) Accelerator. on the jumps you were slow as well. this play can be 10-15 better, if you follow.
