You probably already figured this out, and it doesn't help much since your run is damage-less, but taking a hit (or two) changes their pattern. That's why Viper behaved for you when you re-recorded everything. I think the number of hits you land on enemies changes it. After testing the hits taken theory, I tried another one where I just avoided that last wizard before you reach the Rama room (as opposed to sliding through him), and their pattern changed. Of course, it could be because I targetted the male first, but I'm assuming you already tested that. (By the way, the change in pattern for that wasn't particularly favorable. They didn't move around as much, but they did their big, invincible combination move twice.) *shrug* I don't see anything wrong with the way it is, though. You avoid tons of hits that look like you have to take, so it's entertaining even if it's a second or two longer than it has to be.

longer than it WAS ... it couldn't be any faster. Every time I did something to avoid a hit, it's because I would have been hit if I didn't ... logically ... That fight couldn't be any faster ... but yes ... it's longer than it WAS in the first run through Mu. About that wizard you avoided, I don't know if it was faster or not, but if you say their behavior got worse, then I won't even try to find out if it was faster or not. Thanks for your interest in my run :)

Here's a picture: http://www.terraearth.com/illusion_of_gaia/rumors/psycho_secret.gif Rumors are that this hole could be slided through with Psycho Slider. However, this hole is located just before Larai Cliff, and we don't get Psycho Slider before Mu. Also, when we get it, there's absolutely no way to go back to check if the hole is slidable. This topic is here to clear this mistery and find out for good. What I suggest is that someone tries to isolate the value that says "you have psycho slider" and lock it to "yes" (??). Basically, it's a cheat find request. I tried myself but I suck at this ... so I'm asking for help. To find that value, you can use my current speed run and savestates at http://halamantariel.homeip.net/speedruns/ I hope we'll find out what that hole hides soon... if it hides something.

Start with Psycho Slider: 1768-4D0D Didn't do any good. The entrance to the ruins is one of those "no attacking" rooms, and you can't do a slide in them. If there was a way to allow Will to attack anywhere, we might be able to find out what's in there. If you ask me, it's probably redundant leftovers they forgot to take out. Happens all the time.
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.

Woah! That was fast! If you could also find out how to attack in any room, it would be cool :) I know it's probably just a leftover, but I've been dying to find out for years now. I gotta break that secret.

Yeah I'm curious about this too, but I doubt there is anything in there. But it would be nice to get a confirmation of this from nintendo or something.

I'm fairly sure Nintendo doesn't care enough to even acknowledge the question.

Asking Nintendo about a SNES game they probably don't even remember? ... Nah .. it'll be a lot easier to find out ourselves.

That was fast thanks to Google! :P ""psycho slider" genie" was enough to give me the results I wanted. I don't know how I could word my search to get the cheat to attack anywhere, though. :/ If you want me to be more specific, it was probably intended to house a jewel. That hole's existance means that either the game originally had lots of backtracking or the Incan ruins came much later in the game. But yes, for the sake of closure, we should break in there.

Why ask Nintendo, though--wouldn't it be better (though as ineffective, no doubt) to ask Enix, since they were the ones who produced the game? Or, if you really want to be pedantic, find out the names of the level designers for IOG/T, find out which companies they work for, and send an e-mail to the company, asking them for a response. (Likely answer; "Wh...that was over a decade ago!"

Yeah ask the company that made the game. That would be better off. Maybe I should address this issue at gamefaqs maybe someone there knows about it. Dont assume just because its an old game that they might not care, I'm sure if you ask them nicely about it they would tell you but dont expect a fast response. Otherwise maybe there is a game genie code that you can walk through walls or something.

Nobody knows about this! Not Nintendo, not Gamefaqs people (???), and mostly not the people at Enix ... Who would remember such a small detail about a game that old? Not even the level designers would remember since it's really old. The best way to find out is to make a cheat called "Attack everywhere" for the game. I don't know how to find that value and isolate it, but I'm sure someone can, somewhere. Don't ask people that made the game... it's useless.

Settle down there buddy. Then if no one knows about this then that means its probably nothing. The fact that you cant ever perform the move in that area, and even if you do get the move you cant go back there to do it, its probably part of the background, the level designors didn't make the psycho slide move yet so it probably means that its nothing. Check the gameshark creators club or request the game genie code. I'll look into it too.

What I mean is that codes can be created. I don't like Snes9x's tool for that at all. I can't seem to be able to create a single cheat code with it. I am used to Zsnes' cheat finder. That's why I'm asking for help. There must be someone on Bisqwit's Nesvideos who is able to use that cheat search tool and find out what value allows to attack everywhere. It's always faster to do everything by ourselves...

There might be someone to help you, but that someone isn't me cause I'm not good at hexing or searching for cheats.

Well, if you ask dictionary.com, that means you are a male reproductive organ. Maybe they really don't like you over there.

So, did you ever figure out how to manipulate the vampires? Or are you going to move on?

I didn't find a way to manipulate them. I continued on and right now I'm at the begginning of the sandworm boss fight. If you do find a way to manipulate them, however, I'd be happy to get a better fight.

I don't really have the time to figure it out right now, but I can probably isolate the value tomorrow. Snes9x's cheat search function is very similar to NESten's, which I dug through for several days trying to find a cheat for Castlevania 2. (Which I did find, eventaully. It just took forever.) In fact, it's fairly intuitive. You just have to do a little creative thinking to find relevant data with it. If you want, I can give you a short explanation via e-mail or PM.
