Can you guy please add a text notepad guide / tutorial for BizHawk in the zip file for first timers like me because it is different from all the other regular emulators. 1st I don't understand BizHawk.Client.DBMan. Im trying to play Akumajou Dracula X but it doesn't read it. It reads the bios under PCE but it doesn't read the game under PCECD. Does it matter? Should I rename the file? or should I skip the BizHawk Client DBMan completely? 2nd EmuHawk tells me I don't have Microsoft Visual 2015 when I do have it installed on my computer. 3rd when I open MultiHawk it keeps giving me an error " Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application" and when I go to configurations to enable jtdebugging, there is no jtdebugging option. So if you guys can please add guide/ tutorial inside the zip file in future updates for newbies like me I would really appreciate it. Thank You and have a nice day.

First question: Did you install the Prereqs? Second question: Are you running EmuHawk.exe from the place you extracted everything? Third question (well, more of a statement): There's a lot of information about BizHawk on the site, including an FAQ.
I am still the wizard that did it. "On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer." -- Satoru Iwata <scrimpy> at least I now know where every map, energy and save room in this game is

No, we won't be providing a tutorial covering subjects literally nobody but you has ever asked about. DBMan isn't for beginners. MultiHawk isn't for beginners. Stop using them. So "it" doesnt read "it". Is the first "it" one of the programs that's not for beginners? Or is "it" emuhawk.exe which can't startup because you don't have visual c++ 2015 runtime installed? Since none of the programs you're able to run can load a PCE-CD bios, any information you have about what happens when opening the PCE-CD bios is fictional. However, I'll assume it isn't fictional, just so we have something to talk about. "It" that reads the PCE-CD bios "under PCE" Must be emuhawk. Since you know so much about how other emulators work, such that you know bizhawk is different, then you would know it's foolish to open a bios file. You must configure it through the firmwares menu. Once that's done a game CD should load OK, as long as its a .cue. Did you run our prerequisite installer? What makes you think you have "Microsoft Visual 2015" installed? It doesn't matter that MultiHawk crashes, you shouldn't be using it. You shouldn't be debugging, because you don't know how to transcribe text, let alone program, so you don't need to care about "jtdebugging" and I can't really fathom what "configurations" you went to. That error message was shown by windows, not us, so it isn't just us being different.

@zeromus You don't have to be a smart ass asshole about it. You should learn to have some manners.

Sorry for opining in this topic as I have no knowledge about Bizhawk as well, and I'm not an active member of the community. But I'd like to point this was a very rude and unnecessary answer. We should treat better our newcomers. There is a lot of arrogance and rudeness in TASVideos, and I can tell it as I have also being treated in a very rude way some times by experienced members of this community, especially when I was very new here too. This isn't acceptable at all, it will only make TASVideos to stop gaining new members, and thus to get smaller and smaller.

Let's not let things get out of hand, here. Kramer, as both Invariel and zeromus have suggested, try running the prerequisite installer and seeing if EmuHawk works after that. If that fails, read through the BizHawk wiki page to see if your problems are addressed there. Yes, this is an exact retread of Invariel's post, but it does need to be heard since it should have answered every question/problem you're having.

Cosmo, just use EmuHawk.exe, forget about everything else. Make sure you are using the highest version of the PCE CD bios, since some games don't run with earlier releases of the bios. Make sure your disc image is in BIN/CUE format. When loading the game, you need to pick the .CUE, and if the image is a proper dump, it will play.

No point in responding to him anymore, he's long gone. Apparently, even though he shouts horrible racial slurs at hecklers during his comedy routines, he can't handle someone slightly aggressively giving him the information he desires.

Though this user was almost definitely at least a half-troll ("KramerTheAssMan16", almost definitely a name a troll would pick, plus his delete my profile posts), I think going out of our way to be respectful to newcomers is generally a good practice. TASing pays a lot of attention to detail and is admittedly pretty hard to do if you know very little about it and some people I imagine would like to do it but have no idea where to even start.
