Hey all, I've been recently working on Skyblazer again. For a while I put it on hold and I just finished the water level. Heres my WIP.. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2/SkyBlazer-OgreSlayeR.smv Any comments on how it could be faster or anything would be appreciated. Edit: The rom is Skyblazer (E) btw.

I get a desynch in the beggining of the fire area. I'm going to check again really quick. edit: Yeah, you run straight into the first little fireball in the fire level. Sorry for the bad news.

Oh, I actually get that too sometimes but if you play it like one or two more times it goes okay. It's the only spot so far that does that.

Does it play through for anyone else?

Actually, it seems to have been made with 1.43 Final, since I can play it back just fine, but it desyncs like that when I switch to the WIP's timing. (When you post a movie you should say what your emulator version and sound/sync settings are.) edit: Watched all of it, it's pretty good so far (and is accompanied by some cool music) but I get the impression it's possible to refill your magic more often without wasting more time than the extra dashes would save. I'd also say, do the leftrightleftrightleftright thing less often when you have to wait, but I guess that doesn't matter much.

Well, I get a desynch whatever version I'm using with Skyblazer :/ Evil nasty thing, spawn of leather, destroyer of ardor... I haven't watched the movie but what's the play time after Lair Of Kharyon? (I guess the water-thing is about this place.)

Okay, I just watched your WIP run and ... I was NOT impressed with Lair of Kharyon.. I just shot the water dragon and the switch at the same time and got a magic vial from the dragon. then killed the boss with 4 Star Fires :T And other thing: Why did'nt you use the secret way in Temple Infernus. it's WAY faster than what you used...

are you still interested in this TA OgreSlayeR?? Because i was intending to do it, but if you want to continue it I would be glad to watch a TA of this game, as i really love it... Though i think it could be improved and i think i can give you advice but only if you're still interested (or anyone else) in it...

Meh, kick me, make fun of me, ostracize me, do whatever. This is the translated version of my beloved Karuraou. I guess I'll work an a movie for this game instead :P

"Also, it appears as though there is no way to get to the extra old dude's hut by the water palace. If anyone can help me confirm this, I would be grateful." FAQs are your friend. Press Up when you're on the map on top of Gateway Of Eternal Storms. Leads you to a flying stage, an interesting stage called Ship To Nowhere where you need to cling on to the box in the middle of the boat to avoid being washed into the sea when the waves strike over the boat, and then to the geezer's hut where you get an extra max life point. Pretty useless in a TAS.

Well, I'm leaving for a week or two so I guess I'll post what progress I have. Not much, actually. I am currently trying to perfect the secret passage in The Temple Infernus, and it's not going too well. I need to get above the leftmost wheel before it crosses paths with the second wheel on the right wall. I can get really close, but not quite close enough. I'll try some more when I get back. http://www.filespace.org/dan_/Skyblazer_v1_dan_.smv

This mismatches with every ROM i have, and consequently desynchs in the very first level. Which version are you using, Dan?

According to NSRT, my rom is a (possible) bad dump. I'll restart with a good dump when I get back.

Any progress? The level and boss design of this game was pretty creative, so it'd be nice to watch.

Any progress? (I'm currently working on this game too, but no WIP so far, struggling with luck manipulation to get magic bottles from enemies, to use Comet Flash to go through stages quickly)

Okay, I found many many new glitches so I'm working on a new run of Skyblazer. Edit: Up to the wind stage, ~49.6 seconds faster than my cancelled run.

Wow... lots of zipping early on. You made a mockery of the drop ceiling in the ice area. This is a good run, Bablo, and this game is very well-suited to this sort of thing. Keep it up!

I am going to finish it... sometime. I just have to redo so much and there are some really annoying stages ahead so I can't be bothered right now.

I haven't been around as much but I'm still really looking forward to it, Bablo. EDIT: But don't let my bursting enthusiasm for this stop you from working on MM7!

That was very cool, but I noticed that the ROM that ended up working with your movie was apparently a beta version. Do the tricks work with any of the published versions?

Umm, I think I'm using a correct ROM. At least I haven't found any better ones. IIRC the glitches work with all versions, but some in different ways.

Hmm, well, since nobody else noticed, I guess it's just a mistake on my part. Still, your WIP makes me wish that I spent more than five minutes on this game when I first ran into it. :)
