No topic for this one, what a surprise. Link to video This is an older WIP I did to see if the game is worth running. No audio because Dolphin.

Very nice work, I was going to do a run myself, since I enjoyed testing Zip Training out. However, desyncs-a-plenty killed my motivation very fast with the project. I tried another strategy at the start, by firstly using web shots to kill the skulls on the lower platform, which you tackle second. This'll mean you don't have to go down there yourself, which means there's no intermediate step between packs 1+3, and thus you can keep up your web swinging/flooring/zipping without the interruption, so surely that'll be faster? Next, on the other upstairs dude, I just used a kick while webswinging to knock him off, and then use a web sling as usual for the 2nd guy. The idea being that kicking in this fashion still allows you to maintain forwards motion, and thus it should save time getting to your next objective? Now, here's an attempted encode, but since the movie desyncs quickly you won't be able to see much. Hopefully you get the gist of what I'm talking about, since afterwards I go downstairs to confirm that at least 1 of the guys got killed :) Link to video And finally, are you doing this on Easy? If so, what are the differences between difficulties?

Did this on Easy. Harder difficulties just make enemies take more hits I believe. Also, your vid's private :p Edit: Oh wow, that's much faster! I'll have to do that if I redo this WIP.

The world record holder for this game claims that you can only save 2 minutes from a tas which was said during his "goblin" run. And said green goblin mode would stand out from nonassisted play better and believes it has some tas-only clips involved.

Well I did Level 1 as Goblin. Link to video Optimizing his glider is incredibly difficult. Also note that I cut out the minute of setup it takes to actually GET goblin (Would a simple unlock code be so hard?). Edit: saved another 2-3 seconds fixing some movement.

Couldn't Spider-man mode and green goblin mode be different branch categories? I'd like to see what's possible with both of them

It looks like the Goblin would make for a much more entertaining run, since Spidey's movement looks so sluggish in this game. I guess the characters would make enough of a difference for separate categories.
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

Link to video Just on general principle, this will probably be the last public video until it's done, however long that takes. Can you guess why?

It's worth the wait! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5FHTiEknn4 At around 3 minutes, he talks about his desire to see a tas of the green goblin category. Look at how sloppy his run looks.. Sub 30 is very possible.

Link to video This has been done for a while, but the clip I need to do to break Shocker is taking forever. So, hey, here you go. In case you're wondering why they keep spawning in clumps like that, going up the building with enough speed sometimes makes them do that. My guess is the game can't properly keep track of Gob's location, and thus can't decide where to spawn them, so it just spawns them right next to him.

A shocker clip? Like skipping shocker? If its taking forever, you may just want to skip the clip if that makes sense. Are you having any desync problems so far? It certainly won't be good to put some much work into something just to find out it doesn't even sync..

funny you said that, I just decided to avoid the clip a day ago and proceed onwards. The shocker clip is a theoretical skip that lets you despawn Shocker's AI. However, in a TAS it would at most save 3-4 seconds from skipping a cutscene since you can just stunlock Shocker with combos. No desync problems so far, surprisingly. Game is remarkably stable.
