Me too lol. I suppose the only way to discover that is by reading the game code... Too bad mGBA doesn't support trace logging. But maybe there are still other ways...

I'm pretty sure the effects include: * Increasing the number of questions of what the equipment does * Decreasing the number of seconds available for analyzing other mechanics in the game * Changes distribution of discussions to include the effects of equipment with greater frequency I'd say the effects are pretty varied. I did not know this game could attach such an intricate effect on anything in it.

This new version is amazing, it didn't crashed even once to me! Click here to download it: https://github.com/TASVideos/BizHawk/releases/download/1.12.0/BizHawk-1.12.0.zip By the way, a little reminder: if someone finds a game-breaking glitch and is not sure if it falls under one of the categories I've listed in the main topic, just ask me privately.

So, the deadline is close now. Any news about how many teams did not submit a run yet ?

I'm not going to answer to this question, but the contestants are free to say anything they want. I just hope that no one will give away any info that may ruin the fairness of the competition.

Wait, there are still 5 days!

There's a good chance a number of teams haven't submitted yet, and plan to use these final days to do touch-ups. There's probably a few that did submit just in case they don't come up with something better before the deadline. Though, 3 months is a lot of time to work on a single game. Curious if the margins will end up razor thin.

3 months is a lot of potential time to potentially work on a single game.

Rule question! This line is ambiguous:
The team that provides the movie file that completes the game from power-on to credits in the fastest time (input end) wins.
Which is it? Fastest time to reach credits? Or shortest input time (while still reaching the credits, but potentially later)?

If you read carefully and split up the sentence properly, it's not ambiguous. I agree that it's easy to overlook at first, though. The credits part just defines game completion.
The team that provides the movie file that completes the game from power-on to credits in the fastest time (input end) wins.
So, fastest input end wins.

For the first months this game was crap but bearable. From the end of march on it really got on my nerves and I hope to never hear from it again. Thankfully FatRatKnight and Exonym could keep going and finish the run.

As Mothrayas said, it's the second one: your goal is to reach the credits with a movie that ends input as early as possible, even if that may potentially result in a longer wait for triggering the credits.

That's what I thought. We've based our finisher input on that rule, so it's good to know we don't have to change things all of a sudden. I prefer the other way, myself, since I believe null input is still input, but ending input early is easier to compare.

A script for simple frame comparisons, if you care. Can't go faster than faster you going.

Here is the precise countdown of the contest end: http://itsalmo.st/#dtc6-actual-end (shoutouts to Masterjun) Now it's your time for placing your bet about which team you think is going to win! As for DTC tradition, you can read and add jokes on the game resource page before it gets replaced with actual data: http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/GBx/ZookManZX4.html Specifically to the contestants: if there is someone in your team which never contributed to the run, you may ask me to bar the nickname and remove it from the YouTube encode title. Update (19:18 UTC): I'm still waiting for some submissions. If you still didn't receive my reply mail, contact me on IRC, forum PM or Discord: ThunderAxe31#1512 Update (19:30 UTC): I forgot to tell that I'm going to upload the submitted movie files to TASVideos user file storage. If you're not ok with this, you have to tell me before the deadline. The winning team's movie file will be uploaded regardless. Update (23:58 UTC): I'm about to start by uploading to TASVideos user storage the movie files submitted by the teams.

It's written: Only the team I belong to can win

Here's a few scripts we had: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/38508373147113065 http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/38508487412195834 http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/38508546028174499 http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/38508617604349368 I forget which ones go to what, but I think it's terrain, hitboxes, basic, and external radar, in that order.

Wow that ending input early trick. Well done finding that one. Congrats team 4. We only missed 3rd by a couple frames.... ouch. XD I have to say great work to Tompa for basically carrying the team. Also he found an instant mini boss kill that i didn't see in the winning submission, so good work on that too. This game sure was glitchy! Thanks for hosting ThunderAxe31, I didn't really like the game but the time frame to TAS it in seemed sufficient so good job estimating that right.
