This is the long-awaited entirely new movie of Rockman 2, making of which was started in March 19th 2004.
Finalfighter's comments about this movie are at: http://www.globetown.net/~rockmovie/aaa.htm
This movie is played by Morimoto and Finalfighter.
I'll skip to the thanks part:
Thanks to
  • Nori for making Famtasia
  • Norix for making VirtuaNES
  • Bisqwit for consultation in game glitches
  • blip for making the invaluable 60 fps Famtasia patch
  • Kuwata for a Rockman 2 level editor
  • Hirano for consultation in ladder and wall tricks
  • Terimakasih for consultation in "shutter technique" (?)
  • The Rockmania site
  • Rockの遊戯館 site
  • SEASIDE LABORARY site for cheat codes
  • WASP site
  • The Joytokey program
  • The Stirling binary editor program
Important note: Finalfighter explicitly forbids republishing this movie (and AVI files made of it) on commercial and advertisement-paid sites.
  • Made with Famtasia
  • Abuses luck (weapon refills, boss behavior)
  • Takes a lot of advantage of game glitches
  • Takes damage to save time
  • No warps, no passwords
A detailed commentary will be coming later (at least in Japanese).

Bisqwit: If someone manages to convert this to FCM, please contact me. I'd like to make the AVI with FCEU (because of superior emulation quality).

I have read (though never been able to perform) that a single Crash Bomb, if placed properly, can take out Wood Man. If this is the case in the Japanese version/Difficult mode, then it would likely be faster than running up to him and using the Air Shooter.
So how about testing it?

I gave it a quick try and the best I could get was 3 hits on him with a single bomb while it takes 7 to kill him on easy and 14 on hard. If this is even possible at all (which I'm doubting) it's certainly not going to work on hard.

Isn't it the heat weapon that can kill Woodman in one hit? This just popped into my mind and I'm not sure about this but I have a feeling that it had to be fully charged and the game had to be played on Normal. On Difficult it took 2 fully charged blasts IIRC. The charging takes up a good amount of time so it wouldn't be useful in a run. There's a good chance I'm wrong so please correct me if you know better.

The Crash (Clash?) Bomb thing does a lot of damage but I've never seen it kill. Given the speed of the current video, I can't see how it could be an improvement. Similarly, the Atomic Flame charges very slowly and you can't be hit or you'll release the blast. The only handy use I ever had for that weapon was destroying Wily's shield, but using the Metal Blade is faster anyway.

I thought it was 4 on Normal and 7 on Difficult. Oh well. You know what they say about not believing everything you read, right? I usually just Metal Blade him when I'm playing, since I can never position the bomb properly to get anything resembling a 1-hit kill. Thanks for at least giving it a shot, though. I didn't think a suggestion from a normal player would work out, but I thought I'd put the idea on the table anyway.

Yeah, I know what you mean about Atomic Fire. In Rockman World, I was going to try to destroy QuickMan with two charged shots, but then I found out that shooting ten uncharged shots was faster.

Just noticed that this run has 65536 (= 2^16) rerecords. Is that a legit coincidence or was it edited?

Certainly there's some editing, because levels were copypasted together a couple of times. Copypasting tends to do bad to the rerecord counter. But I don't know if the final number is a coincidence.

This video sucks, learn to be good with talent. Abusing glitches isn't a talent. I rate it worth nothing. You hacked the game, :It knows when your on a item and you hit a ceiling. You used a program to hack it. SO SCRAM!

You say that you don't like the abusing of the glitches [that were overlooked in the game's programming], but then say it was hacked (assuming that it was hacking that made the glitches possible)? P.S. You have to use item 1 on the corner of a ceiling, which M&F do whenever possible. Of course you're not able to do it in the middle of a ceiling.

That's EXACTLY the attitude that has caused lots of problems to scientists in the past. People who are filled with prejudice and refuse to accept new knowledge. People who think that scientific findings are witchdom. (And if you are going to say we're not scientists, you missed the point.) Now, if you ACTUALLY tested the game before spitting those claims out from your mouth, you would have found that the method how the game checks for ceiling-item collision is not perfect, and the method how Finalfighter&co abuse it, indeed avoids the item disappearing too soon. It's doable in real time on a real console. You should look carefully at this image, and then go try to do it yourself (if you fail, try again!) if you really care that much. If you don't care, you shouldn't spit those claims, because, well, you're wrong.

Omega, i can tell that you just want to see games played normally and you probably arent the first. But if that is what you wanted to see, you have come to the wrong website. This is Based on finding the fastest possible time and finding Programming Errors. Also based on Entertainment.
