Game objectives :
  • Play the Game Boy version
  • Play in hard difficulty
  • Beat the game fast as possible
  • Uses glitch to save time
  • Take damage to save time
  • Play in japanese
  • And becoming the most rich duck to Duck city, lol
hi,
I present today the Duck Tales show on Game Boy in japanese version.
-Question, answer-
-why choose to play on GAME BOY?
Because I think then levels are some little different of the NES version, have some glitches only possible in this version and i want suggest a new vision of this TAS because for me it's as entertaining as to watch the NES TAS.
-Why choose to play in japanese?
Because enter in the levels is more faster than the US version and than speak with a PNJ is more fast.
-What are difference between easy, normal and hard difficulty?
In easy, you have 4 health points, in normal or hard difficulty you have just 3 points. In easy and normal difficulty; when you take health, you win 2 points, else in hard mode you win just one health point.
-Glitches explanation-
-Fast rope glitch:
When you climb to the rope for reach the next window, you have an inevitable loading before continue to climbing.
If you jump and hold the up direction, one frame before the loading start, you create an confusion of the loading speed on the character for a climbing faster. ( don't hold the "up" direction after than the loading is started; this input stop the glitch!).
-Touch the hitbox perfectly:
Some bosses, like boss n°1, have a hitbox problem when you touch them at the first frame, indeed, they die immediately, not dropped the treasure and block the character in the room!
It's possible, with a perfect position into the enemy hitbox, to take damage and touch directly the boss to have an optimal fight and not have the boss glitch.
Save more 510 frames in comparison to first "WIP": (#21411849320938420 - duck tales gb all level (japan))
I have not news of vintse500 since more 2 years, I have taken the decision to remade this work alone but to associate this TASER to this submission, because he was to initiative of this project and I hope he watch this actualy for viewing this finaly improvement ;)
Thank you have watching this and hope entertain yourself.

omg that ending music such nostalgy!
my personal page - my YouTube channel - my GitHub - my Discord: thunderaxe31 <Masterjun> if you look at the "NES" in a weird angle, it actually clearly says "GBA"

Nice job! The game is different enough to publish along with the NES run. There is a lot of lag though. Few small questions: * In the mines, you release a boulder when you have 1 hit point, take damage, and still live. How? * At the moon, are there really no glitches like in the NES run for early entry to the caves? * After Dracula, can you be in the middle of the air when Flintheart Glomgold appears? The NES run does that, saving a bit of time climbing the last rope.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

Ha, ha! when you said that, I have believed than I had missed some things, I checked this and it's a confusion, I have 2 health points and after the rock hit me I have 1 health point.

No I think it's impossible! I have a test file just for MOON level and the configuration of this level is some different to the NES version, indeed, at the level start if you continue to advance in the top righ direction, you have a big wall and you can't past it. Else, if you arrived in front of the cave entry, in NES you have an enemy for create this glitch, he's not in the GB version! I think it's impossible for this reasons and after i tried more things i can said you than I'm to 90% sure, the 10% remaining are just the hope! But I continue to search solution ;)

No I explain this, for uses the fast rope glitch, I am obliged to jump since the ground for reach the rope else the glitch are not triggered. It's not possible because the speak box cancel this operation. Thank for your questions and hope answered correctly.
