Brief Description
- Pink Panther in Pink Goes to Hollywood is a 2D Platformer.
- An interesting game mechanic is bouncing off enemies which is used a few times in this run for shortcuts.
- Another cool mechanic are the coins. When you collect a coin you can use it near a toll box to trigger certain events such as a self-building bridge or stairs.
- Using doors moves you a lot faster than running.
The fastest ways to move are (Descending):
Normal:
- Running
- Running while taking damage
- Jumping/Falling
- Bouncing off enemies
Under Water:
CAT ON A HOT PINK ROOF:
- Nothing to really say about this level, it's just basic platforming.
PINKBEARD:
- I found a glitch in this level: When you crouch and jump in the right moment you can avoid being sqashed by the ship.
- I also found a shortcut: You can jump from the anchor on top of the ship.
- The anchor is based on a local timer.
- The position of the pirate on top of the ship is based on when you kill the two sharks.
JUNGLE PINK:
- I use a door here to get to the right faster.
PINKINHOOD:
- There's the highest bouncing off an enemy in this level. I use the guy who takes three hits to climb the tree.
REFRIGERATOR:
- I use the peas and bottle tops to skip a lot of the second refrigerator level.
- The bottle tops seem to be based on a global timer as well as your position.
PINK LEMONADE:
- I have to avoid getting to close to the drinking straws because they'd bring me to the beginning of the level otherwise.
- There's a huge amount of jellyfishes on the bottom of the level, but I managed to avoid killing most of them.
PINK CHILL:
- I have to slow down a few times in this level because of the snowman cycles and the small skiers.
PINK RANGER:
- Again a basic platforming level, I use one of the doors to save a bit of time.
HONEY I SHRUNK THE PINK:
- After the refrigerator I collect the trick above the level entrance. This is the traffic light which I use to speed up the final boss fight.
POLTERPINK:
- There's an interesting trick near the armchairs: Usually the ghosts spawn as soon as you pass a certain spot, however you can jump over that trigger to delay their spawning enough to just run through them.
PINKENSTEIN:
- I have to kill the monster after using the coin in order to make the bat fly slightly more to the right, just enough for me to jump without hitting it.
- The game wants you to walk on one of the heads over the water to reach the door on the right, however I managed to skip that by utilizing two health points.
FINAL BOSS:
- In order to unlock the final boss you have to complete all previous levels and sub levels.
- I managed to speed this fight up a lot by using a traffic light to freeze the boss. This way I can hit him 12 times in one cycle.
- Finally I use a funny trick: By bouncing off the boss high enough I hit the enemies on the level above. I would lose a life as soon as I touch the ground after that, but if I stay long enough in the air after the final boss is defeated the level will finish before that happens.
After the credits finished the console must be reset in order to return to the main menu.
Masterjun: There is a surprising amount of visible movement optimization in this run. It's quite fast-paced and entertaining. Even though there wasn't much viewer feedback, all it got was good. So I have no problem placing it in Moons. Accepting to Moons.
