Submission Text Full Submission Page
Apparently this game is the precursor of tactical RPGs... or something like that... beats the current record on nico nico by about a second and a half. Can almost certainly be improved but the RNG is too annoying...

GoddessMaria: Judging...
GoddessMaria: Although this submission shows impressive luck manipulation for the game, the entertainment value is very low due to game choice thus eliminating it from qualifying for Moons tier. As for Vault tier, it encounters a problem there too. The fact that there is an existing movie that completes the game faster than this submission disqualify it from being accepted for Vault tier.
Due to these issues, I am rejecting this submission.

my personal page - my YouTube channel - my GitHub - my Discord: thunderaxe31 <Masterjun> if you look at the "NES" in a weird angle, it actually clearly says "GBA"

For your info, I uploaded a movie file I made several years ago. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/41289430800559246 http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/41323980399663048 (faster but more boring one)

Horrible music, and all you do is walk left. By the looks of it, the enemies don't even attack you; you get to choose whether or not you engage them, or just walk past them. I thought this was one of the crappy games from Action 52 until I looked it up and learned that you can free soldiers from rocks and trees... so I guess there's slightly more to this game than walking left the whole game. Of course, if you stop to free good guys, you have to listen to that horrible music that repeats every 10 seconds that many more times. Regardless of how well optimized it is, it's definitely not entertaining.

Short, weird, and looks damn annoying to play in real time. I'm a fan of runs like this. Definitely looks vaultable.

Takanawa's movie is quite a bit faster... although I can't seem to get it to sync on BizHawk. So maybe I should cancel this submission and we should publish his?

Certainly a vault run. I guess the next logical step would be 100% where you free all your soldiers while completely genociding the enemy with no deaths of your own.
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.

Try playing the game, you'll very quickly how differently it plays without ridiculous luck manipulation. You're only seeing the king move left all the time because everyone has been manipulated to move out of the way, and only see fights getting won due to very low probabilities succeeding.

You can try looking at some addresses and see which frame it starts becoming different from FCEUX compared to playing it on BizHawk to find out if it's due to lag or the like.

His movie does not have any additional lag compared to mine. I can match the map generation that he gets, but after that the AI does not sync up at all, despite there being no apparent difference in our inputs...

This game looks unpleasant to TAS. So many enemies bumbling in the way... Yet, watching it in all its monotony almost became hypnotic in a way, making me forget daily life for a moment. So the run is worth at least a "meh" vote, I think.

Well, one thing that is clear is that my movie should certainly not be published; look at Takanawa's (second) updated movie which is completed in 3:44. I'm not sure what the signficance of it not syncing on BizHawk is, but it certainly seems publishworthy. The only reason I'm keeping the submission on the workbench is because I fear that if I remove it, the other movie will not be submitted and will not be published on the site.

If it's submitted, which is up to Takanawa.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.
