"New Super Mario Bros. Wii" is my favorite SMB game created by Nintendo. Most playable. Many power-ups. Level map design is funny. Enemies and character's action is realistic. And effects are realistic, too. Also, there are many enemies met in old games appearing in this game. Even it's better than newest game - NSMBU, in my opinion. So it's a must-play Mario game for Mario fans!

About movie

  • Aims for 100%
100%==5 stars' savestate with flashing=8-Last Castle completed+W1~W8 all levels (includes secret levels and all cannon levels)+W1~W8 all starcoins+W9 completed+W9 all 24 starcoins, without using the GREEN !
  • Emulator used: Dolphin 5.0-5554. But the native movie started by 5551.
Propeller is used at most. Because it's most useful. Then the penguin suit used. You can swimming very fast and get the speed bigger than 3 on ground with it. Other items is used for a little time.
  • Due to the first movie, I didn't pay attention to the major route. Just world by world. But skip most anime, though.
  • Because any% run published, I learned some new skills from nonster. For example, using propeller suit to step on a enemy to get a faster speed on 2x1's slope. Using groundpound to beat Bowser Jr. in 8-doomship.
  • I found a new skill while TASing: Throwing a shell or others could interrupt the flight status. To avoid landing slowly.
  • So there are other more improvable points in any% run. And I'll improve that record in future (Maybe...).

Thanks to aldelaro5 for Dolphin memory engine very much! It helps me a lot. Searching RAM so quickly. And just used small amount of memory. That decreases a big annoying thing when I make TAS movie with dolphin.

I'm sorry that I couldn't find the RNG. To be honest, this is my weakness. And I didn't find how to manipulate it. Though I tried for many times. So there are some not good places in this movie. Forgive me please.

《新超级马里奥兄弟Wii》美版由2009年11月15日发售,首款支持多人同时游戏的超级马里奥兄弟系列游戏(然并卵,本视频全程单刷)。出现了新道具冰冻花、企鹅装、竹蜻蜓,这些在OP中都可以见到。一样老套而不失风度的剧情:库巴老爹的儿子库巴二世带着7个小矮人当着马里奥一行人的面“偷偷”抱走了碧琪小公主,然后马里奥和他的小伙伴们又踏上了拯救公主的漫漫之路。

电影特点

  • 目标:100%
所谓的100%是游戏的闪光五星存档的达成条件:8-堡通关、世界1~世界8所有关卡(包括隐藏关和大炮关)通关、世界1~世界8所有大金币获取、第9世界全部通关、第9世界大金币全部获取、未使用超级向导通关。最后游戏提示“恭喜你已经获得了本游戏的所有东西!”
  • 使用模拟器:Dolphin 5.0-5554,但录像最开始使用的是5551
录像中登场时间最长的当属竹蜻蜓装,本游戏最bug的道具;其次是企鹅装,因为企鹅装在水中游泳速度极快,在陆地关也可以获得x speed∈(3,4]的速度;其余道具均在很短的时间内出过场。
  • 本次由于是第1版录像(不过我估计不会有动力去做第2版了,实在是太长了),路线上没有太花心思去揣摩,只是按部就班地一个世界一个世界地这么走下来了。但是最重要的一些过场动画我还是跳过了。
  • 由于前不久nonster发布了他的any%录像,我也学到了新技巧:比较平的坡(2×1)可以利用竹蜻蜓飞起然后一瞬间踩怪获得大于3的速度并保持一段时间;在8-船采用非常规方法打败库巴二世。
  • 做录像的时候我也发现了一个新技巧:飞起后扔龟壳等道具可以瞬间取消飞行状态然后加速,可以避免飞起后降落的时间。
因此any%还是有其它的提升点的,可能不久我会重新刷新这个记录。

十分感谢本引擎的作者!搜索RAM的时候实在是太快了,而且也不会占用多少内存。让我做TAS的时候少了一件很大的烦心事!

  • 很遗憾我没有找到随机数地址,随机数搜索也一直是我的弱项。这个游戏不像DS利用踢墙和二段跳可以控制随机数,也不像smb3那样晚结束几帧关卡可以改变之,试过很多方法然后并没有什么卵用,大地图上的敌人该往哪移动还是往哪移动...所以录像中也出现了看起来很掉技术的地方。希望大家理解。

Wow, you completed this large project, congratulations! I love NSMBwii, I used to play this game with my brother in my uncle's bedroom. This is the only game I have played with my relatives! However, because the game is too perfect to find an amazing bug / glitch, the effect of TAS is not shocked enough. Anyway, there are still many superb operations to enjoy! Meh vote, I think that level 8-7 could be more entertaining. You can show a lot of extreme operations in this level. (You can watch Nonster's any% movie)

So it took a while, but I can verify that this run syncs for me on Dolphin with Dual Core disabled, DSP set to HLE, and with an emulated Wii-Mote present (but with cleared settings). Not only that, but it was a very entertaining few hours and so I've voted yes! Great job! Edit: I may as well pre-claim this for publication and get to clearing up hard drive space in anticipation of the several terabytes this dump is going to take.
I'm not as active as I once was, but I can be reached here if I should be needed.

But not in a TAS movie or other types of speedrun, in my opinion. Someone has done a movie for two players. And I found that 2p's route is similar to 1p. Especially for rotating ground. And the player behind always becomes a bubble while touching the flag and entering the pipe. Multiple players would save time sometimes. But lost time most times. So I don't think it is acceptable in this site.

I remember beating this game to the bone when I was younger, getting every single big coin in the game was an extremely satisfying moment for me. Seeing them all collected in this movie brings back so many memories. Definite Yes vote!

It is awesome! I thought it is a lot to do! *Did you play toad houses in this TAS? *Did you score 999 points at the ending credits scene (World 8)? Though, there are problems. There is World 9 and you made it all.

Finally finished watching this. What a masterpiece. However, the route choice in W5 is definitely questionable. It's probably better to beat the game first using the level route from any% instead of visiting W5 for 3 times. According to the guide on Speedrun.com(https://www.speedrun.com/nsmbw/guide/l5h8o), "beating Bowser's Castle early disables the save prompts after every Tower, Castle, or Cannon" as well.
