Honestly, I was more concerned about the lag than the screams of terror. It's not normal lag, it's frame dropping lag. (Game proceeds at normal speed with less frames of display) And I'll definately switch if I can get 0-3 working right. I like the colors. The extra loading time doesn't bug me, it actually makes the game easier to perfect because before I had to start inputting two frames before it started to switch, rather than 3 frames after it.

150% more spiffy
This only appears 140% more spiffy. Are you trying to fool us into thinking we're getting more than what we're actually getting?

Few tips: 2-1: Wouldn't it be faster to stand on the bug then backflip up at the start at the lvl? 2-3: This can be done 5 timeunits faster by using the ladder to your left, put that under the door that is closing. That will stop the door from closing and you can skip alot of the lvl. Thats what i noticed, other than that nice movie so far:). And how do you do those walljumps? edit, meant 2-1 not 2-2

You can stand on those types of bugs? I was under the impression the spiky ones killed you instantly... or do you mean to do this in 2-1, not 2-2?

Haha, neat, I didn't know you could do that. Nice find. edit: instead of taking up more space replying... \/\/\/ I don't see any ladybugs in 2-2, only the spiky one... oh well, whatever :)

There's only a spider in 2-2, but I saved a timeunit in 2-1 by doing what you described. I saved a timeunit in 2-2, and 6 in 2-3. But I somehow lost a timeunit in 2-4 by just a few frames (even though I did the exact same thing I did last time), and I couldn't make it up. *shrug* Weird. Vital Stats:

2-8 can be done 3 timeunits faster by using the block at the start, then do a handstand jump up to the finish platform. http://www.geocities.com/skolehater159/dk.zip Zip file contains movie file with a savestate right before 2-8

Heh... I may have gotten more accustomed to the game by that point, which tends to happen when I make these quickie videos. FYI, my times for Stage 3: 182 183 182 118 186 133 165 177 should all be pretty beatable.

... I honestly didn't watch it. That looks much faster actually... (Interesting bug...) EDIT: I can't reproduce it, do you have any idea how it works? Any insight will be of use.

Did you try the Input Display?

It may have been pure luck that i got it to happen that way, most of the time mario would just disappear from the map. I would get map completed but when you hear mario climbing he just climbs forever. Ill try to explain it, first get up on the block, how you do that doesnt matter. Then do a handstand and jump up to Because mario aint supposed to be there he will glitch either out of the map or on to the finish platform.

It would be a posistion glitch, not a crazy input glitch. @Squall: Thanks, I got it to work on 2-8, now I'm going back and trying it at 75m and 25m, If I get them they should be easy to hex back in.

I'm pretty sure that the SGB allows access to the SNES sound channels - the entire credits music on SGB is much better than standard GB, and it also doesn't play correctly on VBA. True SGB emulation is really SNES+SGB emulation (with the enhanced sound offering and even the capability to run native 65816 code, as seen in Space Invaders).

In other news I figured out why I'm having such a difficult time getting a 95 on 2-4, it turns out that the frame counter doesn't reset when you finish a level, and when it reaches 60 it drops the timer by 1. I started 2-4 with the frame counter at 59... It seems that I got a 147 on 2-3 by the skin of my teeth. I haven't gotten the rocket into the sky trick to work on 75m. But I haven't tried to abuse the jump in the air trick next to the rising platform yet. On 25m I'm positive it's slower.

*prays* Sorry, it's a little late, though. . . . But I just got the Donkey Kong rom, so I've checked out your work and it's very impressive so far.
