This run improves [1091] NES Little Samson "warps" by klmz in 10:13.27 by 7180 frames.

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: FCEUX 2.2.2
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Takes samage to save time
  • Abuses programming errors in the game
  • Manipulates luck

What are improved

Basically this update is established on my newly discovered techniques to enter the ground and wrap to the right edge of the screen. Other improvements come from better optimizations as well as a missing wrap at the beginning of the last stage, which only requires old techniques to perform but was somehow overlooked in the previous run.
However, skipping more sections of the game leads to less power-ups obtained, which posed some challenge in the HP and potion management.

Other Comments

Thanks to mtvf1 for the encode.

GoddessMaria: Judging.
GoddessMaria: Very good with improving your previous run, klmz! The optimization level is solid, a notch better than the published run, and was also well received by the audience. It didn't drag for too long and it remained interesting throughout.
Accepting for Moons as an improvement to the author's previous movie.
feos: Pub.

If this gets accepted, I would suggest a "Notable Improvement" tag considering the time savings is about 1/5th the length of the previous submission for this game.

Wow, crazy improvement! I'm not sure what led to all your new submissions, klmz, but this is probably one of the most impressive. It looks like you found new quicker zip techniques to skip even more of the stages.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. We need an All Stages or Warpless run now to show off more of the game. I got inspired to TAS this game. Voting yes for this good run.
I still learn more about English. https://www.youtube.com/user/McBobX100

Yeah I found several new zip techniques. I'll try to explain them in updated descriptions. However, these are complicated and best to be viewed accroding to the exact input in the TAS.

All stages can't be done in a single run as some stages conflict with some others. A "maximum stages warpless" might be feasible. For now you can take a look at the descriptions of the previous submissions as well as some FAQs floating on the net for informations about how stages are selected behind the scene and which stages are better to be presented if you are interested in making such a TAS.
<klmz> it reminds me of that people used to keep quoting adelikat's IRC statements in the old good days <adelikat> no doubt <adelikat> klmz, they still do

That's an incredibly good game for NES. It's wonderful! The run execution looks very well done and the glitches are mind-blowing. Yes vote. Also, if you want to make a warpless run, I'd like to contribute. Please contact me if you decide to make one.
my personal page - my YouTube channel - my GitHub - my Discord: thunderaxe31 <Masterjun> if you look at the "NES" in a weird angle, it actually clearly says "GBA"
