IMO this game has great potential for a timattack, because of it's terrible controlling, imagine watching bart run through those enemies and doing the objectives without getting hit that would be quite amusing :D

You'd need the patience of the Buddha to pull that game off. So clunky. ~.~ But yes, it WOULD make an interesting watch. I've only ever gotten to level 2, myself. ><

No one has made a TAS of this game yet, they have only mentioned it.

Actually, someone HAS made a TAS of it. It was never submitted here but it was available on speedruns.org which went down a long time ago. The run wasn't very good though, and the game doesn't offer many good opportunities for showing off or doing cool tricks.

For me the most impressive thing would just be seeing the game completed. It has to be one of the worst made games EVER. Horrible control, insane difficulty, and frankly just a nightmare to play.

This game was odd in that the first level threatened to actually be creative with its "spraypaint all the purple things" goal. And then after that it just becomes a boring item collection game and basic platformer. Plus it's kind of impossible to avoid getting stalled in the third level. It's a really uneven game in terms of watchability. It's also got some of the most unintuitive controls ever -- The A button is both the jump AND run button, except when you're in the middle of jumping, B suddenly becomes the "run" button. Eesh. It makes the game really difficult to do a TAS of, but the difficulty won't be as apparent to people who are just watching. I'd like to see a TAS, personally. Thought about making one myself, but due to everything I just mentioned, I decided it probably wouldn't be worth it.
http://girlyyy.com/ The El Viento TAS is the only decent thing I submitted here.

I would like to see this one done too. I played this one to death as a kid. I think I actually got good to the point where I could do this whole thing without dieing....which actaully did take a really long time to do....

this game is not so complicated, since I have finished several times to it, I am animated to do timeattack of this: D, in fact is difficult to finish to me without damage in level 4 but to be short cuts….Ah! I am new in this forum: D

yeah, that was a cool game. one of the best simpsons games ever.. bart can run really fast, and there is that skateboard part in that first stage and various dangerous jumps in other stages.

its ok to take damage if its to save time or is completely unavoidable, my suggestion is to look where damage might help in other lvls

hi, I have my WIP of first level… as you can see I finish in 2m 15s to it which seems to me good weather, I am still working the other levels but meanwhile it leaves your commentaries on this http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/get/1858/ivanovishGC-Simpsonvsspacemutants.fcm

I just watched your wip, and I'm happy that you are working on this game. I played this a lot as a kid and never could beat it because it was too hard. If you don't mind, I have a couple of suggestions to improve the first level. You don't start the game on the earliest possible frame, you should try using frame advance to find the quickest frame to start the game rather than mashing the start button. Around frame 2200 it looks like you over jump an alien and have to hit the left button to correct. Rather than do that, try to change the jump height and start position. Around frame 4000 you stop, I think this happens later in the movie as well. At the boss fight you miss a shot; this looks bad. I think that if you are planning to do this seriously, you should try rerecording the first level using frame advance to make sure things are done as fast as possible. Also, why not collect the letters from jumping on people's heads?

Ash covered most of what I was going to comment on. Don't forget that you can take a hit and sprint through at times. May or may not be applicable in the first level. But the boss fight had 2 missed shots, and it seems like you spray a couple of things....strangely. Like you made your way to a plant and then got it from a certain side, or kept on just standing and spraying for a second after. Overall looks nice, just tweak those little things. and would getting Maggie actaully speed up the boss fight? I know some of the later ones will actaully slow you like Marge or cause weird lag like Homer, or do diddly like Lisa.

Ok….it will try to make the changes that say to me, with respect to the jumps, frequently jump with AB simultaneously, this I do it because the jump is upper and quick (for that reason a firing of spray escapes sometimes)… but thanks for the corrections and today will command to them until level 2 (obvious WIP)
