Note that you can only have 2 grenades (or bazooka bullets ; 1 missiles shot) on screen, then you need to wait the end of the explosion animation to shot . Maybe to prevent things like this : https://imgur.com/MWRTydO (i found a trick that skip this waiting by offscreen the explosion, but uselessl until last boss, and it slower than actual sub).

Glitches and tricks

  • Event skipping : By jumping at a certain (tight) X position you can cancel the screen lock that trigger the event. I empty shot in the air to let you guys know when it used.
  • Pineapple cap glitch : in stage 20, jump on the machine gun then rejump (after throwing pine).
  • Instant trolley max speed : press down for two frames before landing in.

Crash then Drop Pack is faster than complete slugflyer part.

Mission 3 Dire Straits

Sunk the submarine to reach mission 5. There is one specific x/y position to reach in order to get incomplete screen faster (not necessary to say that i found it by pure luck).

Mission 5 Battlefield Bridge

Nothing here, just keep max speed as long as possible.

Mission 6 Turbulent Transmissions

Miss a shot, it just pass near the left ear of a soldier. I don't even try to tasediting it cause all my past try change the behavior somewhere later.

A veeeeeery long auto-scroller stage... I try my best to keep it "entertaining".

Usually this boss have multiple pattern/fights (with long introduction) that takes forever.

Memory: Not sure where you got the 512/576 numbers from but jumping is definitely faster despite the long landing lag, so this appears to be well optimized.
I definitely liked the movie, the action was fast paced despite a couple of autoscrollers and the audience liked it too.

at 11:24 of the temp encode, I think this jump can be done later you can move a little bit to the right before doing it or if you can choose the lenght of the jump, doing jumps to do not be stopped by the stair and improve by some frames. In any case, yes vote for me ! It was well done and entertainning to watch.

When I saw the NGP movies for the first time I've got a bit dissapointed because there wasn't a Metal Slug 1st/2nd Mission TAS, but now we have a movie for the 2nd Mission! :D About the movie, I like it... a lot! Specially the rhythm parts
