Oh we aint done yet! There’s a Linux port of pcsx2 and requires sdl2 and OpenGL. So, would it be possible to run ps2 games like this? Maybe add some qt hooks?

Let's not TAS on an emulator full of hacks. Thanks. And if you want a suggestion. It's called DobieStation. One that's young and is full of potential on not being loaded with hacks beyond the brim.

What do you mean by “hacks”? Can you elaborate?

Again this? You've said that before in another place... DobieStation is so new that we're probably just going to start looking at him in a decent way in five or six years. Some people prefer to start TAS on PCSX2 even with all the Hacks, than waiting for more years.

PCSX2 is still not an optimal, good emulator for PS2 TASes due to it relying on plugins. There's multiple inconsistencies just from slight change for not only plugins but also just a slight difference with your computer, so it never runs a single game well enough to be useful. I'd rather wait for something better, like Dobiestation there, or for the PCSX2 dev team to actually bother to update and change their emulator for the better.

It seems like dobiestation is now in active development. As in, development is now more faster paced than it was before. Right now as of writing this there is a build error I addressed on there. Next I will see if it works with libtas once the build error is resolved.
