RNG

RNG calculation formula

RNG = ( PrevRNG * 0x41C64E6D + 0x00003039 ) & 0xffffffff RNG[0] = 0x00000000

Luck manipulation

When a small particle appears, RNG is increased twice per frame. When a red ball appears, RNG is increased 4 times per frame.

Voice RNG

There is 4 kinds of voice for a screen of YOU WIN, and there is a great difference in loading. It's important that I keep choosing shortest Voice#1 from those. Voice = (RNG >> 16) & 0x0003

Early input finish

Although there is a name entry on the last screen, I thought that naming is unnecessary. I think that it is more fun to finish the input earlier.

About details

When using a special attack, Chuji squats, so he can avoid the upper row attack.

OPTION MODE

I shifted upward to 1893-1894 1684-1685 twice by using the second controller and shortened one frame.

Stage 1

Chuji avoids high punches when charging. Special attack has damage three times the charge time. He deals 1.5 times more damage than normal by "counter hit". I got the fastest "counter hit". 57 x 3 x 1.5 = 256 I advanced RNG 10 times with kick particles for the next stage.

Stage 2

The attack he can't avoid when he behaves fastest, would be done, so I'm to consume a luck manipulation and 3 frames too much, and I'm making him choose defence. I advanced RNG 78 times by red punch for the next stage.

Stage 3

The posture he's charging can avoid a short kick. I got the fastest "counter hit". I advanced RNG 62 times by red punch for the next stage.

Stage 4

Luck manipulation is becoming difficult because the probability that he does ideal behavior is low. I got the fastest "counter hit". I advanced RNG 82 times by red punch for the next stage.

Stage 5

Since lightning occurs at this stage, RNG is always running. I got ideal behavior of FEI by luck manipulation and backward movement of 3 frames. I advanced RNG 6 times, and furthermore I advanced RNG one more time by waiting one frame on the screen of YOU WIN for the next stage and the future.

Stage 6

I got her more ideal behavior by luck manipulation and back dash. If you hit "counter hit" in the air, 1.2 times more damage will be given. 48 x 3 x 1.5 x 1.2 = 259 I advanced RNG 4 times.

Stage 7

The ideal RNG at this stage was only once in several hundred times. I got the fastest "counter hit". I advanced RNG 122 times by special attack.

Stage 8

Because he did not have perfect ideal behavior, I spend a little time for a "counter hit". I advanced RNG 78 times.

Stage 9

I waited one frame at the start of the fight and backed it three more frames. And with the luck manipulation I got the action of an "air counter hit." 48 x 3 x 1.5 x 1.2 = 259 I advanced RNG 40 times.

Stage 10

I got the fastest "counter hit". I advanced RNG 48 times.

Stage 11

Because I could not get the fastest "counter hit", I spent a bit of latency. However, RNG which can obtain this behavior was very rare. I advanced RNG 12 times. I advanced "InGameFrame" 4 by waiting 2 frames of "YOU WIN" skip, but this time the start time of the next stage is the same.

Stage 12

NORK is tough as it has resistance to special attacks. I got RNG which can obtain "Bravo Uppercut" many times. There is a small gap in the hit box of "Bravo Uppercut", so you can go through the attack by adjusting the dash. The movie is finished early by long jump low kick, but the adjustment seemed like hell.

Stage 13

Even with the same random number, UDAN behaves differently depending on the "InGameFrame" difference. My TAS tudio has always been frozen in the middle of this stage. So I had to do a lot of input patterns in the end by hand.

Others

If you place importance on "In Game Time" it will be less than 20 seconds. The movie that made the "time in game" fastest became less than 20 seconds. https://video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/1078646264701415425/pu/vid/560x480/u_xDzeEe_8CrB9_9.mp4

ThunderAxe31: Judging.
ThunderAxe31: File replaced with a 207 frames improvement.
ThunderAxe31: This movie is nicely optimized, thanks to the RNG manipulation for each fight.
It's fun to see the last opponent committing suicide, and the reception was almost completely positive.
Accepting for Moons.
fsvgm777: Oh boy, more 480i. Processing.

I was getting excited through it thinking this would be about In Game-Time focused which would be awesome then the input stopped. Fighters of speed usually don't get great votes and I was about to vote Meh on Entertainment but once the type changed well I'm voting No now. I'm also curious on why you have your second controller inserted. I know that the bios does a controller/card check so is it because of this to change the randomness of each fight?

A second controller is using only once to reduce 1 frame in choice of an option mode.

Right. I'm actually here to criticize this TAS since it is a TAStime oriented fighting TAS. This TAS features: 2 Controllers and 2 MemCards inserted. Reasoning: Saves a frame (Well the 2 Controllers does allow it) This becomes an issue where in reality pirohiko loses 204 frames because they didn't mess with the Controller/MemCards Config due to having stock. (Using: SCPH1000 like the TAS) But that's nothing right? This is the issue with doing a TAStime fighter TAS. Since it is a fighters TAS this can be done in within no time and revised almost instantly. If this was an IGT oriented TAS it would've been a small blemish. Here's the userfile. And as always. When doing PlayStation. FIX YOUR SETTINGS. Edit: 2 Controllers save 3 frames (unless I borked something)

That was hilarious, especially the last two fights. I think shortest input is a way more sensible goal for this game than focusing on in-game time, so good call and great execution! :D

I will wait for your new movie file, and then I will replace the submitted file. Do you agree?

If there's enough of a difference between opponents faced and the change in randomness (and to an extent post input as that's apparently the entertainment factor being changed) it might warrant a new submission instead of having this one replaced.

I agree. 207 frames were saved according to the setting of NoMemryCards / 2 Controllers. There were 2 frame updates on the title screen, but they were absorbed by lag or frame rules. RNG has become the same as the previous movie from Stage 6. I finished one frame earlier than the previous movie by adjusting the in-game frame counter. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/52171968936863291

File replaced, I apologize for the wait. Is there anyone else who is against ending inputs early? If so, please explain why you prefer to have the input aiming for in-game time. Edit: Since the game refers to the mode as just "Tournament", I changed the label for this submission in order to remove the "Mode" word. Same for the published movie [2524] PSX Tobal 2 "Quest Mode" by pirohiko in 03:41.17.

Actually the logic would follow something like Tekken 3. Branchless for the Arcade mode (This one) and Branched for the random mode (Quest Mode).

Is the video in the first post an encode of the current submission file, or the original one? Edit: Spikestuff informs me that the differences are minor enough not to warrant a new video. So here are my thoughts: I was surprised in the first round when I saw a one-hit KO, bored by the third when I saw that that was all that was happening, and then really entertained the last two rounds when input ended early. Good job! Voting yes.

Good point. Let's discuss this in the label fixing thread (I just made a post about it). Edit: After some discussion, it turns out that it's preferred to have a blank label for a movie that uses the main mode of the game, when applicable. So I'm setting a blank label for this submission.

I don't understand why this got Moons. It was the same one-hit fight again and again, except for the penultimate fight -- which was the only one that made me smile -- and the last fighter predictably offed himself. Normally a fighting game speedrun is straight to the vault, so I had to watch this movie to see what was different about it that made it entertaining. The answer was... nothing! Just another boring, repetitive, non-playaround fighting TAS. What gives?

You’re asking why a movie that the audience found entertaining and fun to watch got into moons? If you disagree with the teir this movie got, please rate it accordingly.

Not to say "I told you so." But. I told you so. With 4 Votes the TAS is not sitting pretty with an Average Entertainment Rating of 3.8. This is the second speed fighter TAS that has been incorrectly placed to Moons. The last time this happened from what I recall was on Tekken 3. --- Edit: If you're here to reply to EZGames69 here's where it went. (My comment here was in agreeance to hopper if anyone wants clarification, EZGames got stuck in the middle.)

I apologize if my Tier decision was wrong, but given that votes support was about 90%, with 3 appreciation posts against only 1 disagreeing post, I couldn't just ignore the overall feedback, especially after that I asked for more responses. hopper, I see that you didn't make it in time for posting your thoughts before the end of the judging process, but we can still change the Tier now if necessary. We only need enough ratings in order to be sure that the feedback received during the judgment wasn't enough relevant.

Borderline tier cases are never easy or clear, so no one should be too annoyed by either outcome. It's only a big deal when it's either Moons or rejection. All the rest can be fixed.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

Yes, I know my feedback would have been more useful before the judgment was made. I've been busy with real life lately; I haven't watched a submission in a while. I happened to visit the front page, and I was intrigued when I saw a fighting speedrun in Moons. That's why I watched it, and that's why I commented. It seems like the decision was affected by a lack of feedback during the judging process?
