2 Player Co-op Quest is a ROM Hack of Super Mario World were the 2nd controller controls the enemies. This TAS Completes all the normal levels, and not the bonus ones. The bonus levels are not needed.
Game objectives
- Emulator used: BizHawk 2.3.1
- beats all normal levels
- aim for fastest time
- tries to be as entertaining as possible
I first found out about this ROM Hack when a
Youtuber uploaded a video on it. I was interested in this game, so I played it with my brother. After that, I decided it would be cool to TAS this game because of how the 2nd controller can control the enemies, thus making for an interesting TAS. This is also my first submission to the site, so I thought that since this game is short and sweet, it would make for a good first TAS.
In the 4th level, it is possible to glitch the enemies into the top (which I did) and it looks pretty damn funny.
Well... Level 1! (yes, that's what it's called.)
This level wasn't very interesting. "Mario" (or the first controller) tries to beat the levels as fast as possible while the "mind controller" (2nd controller) moves the enemies out of the way for him.
Watery Ruins
The same thing happens as level 1, but instead of helping, the 2nd player tries to hurt "Mario", but fails.
(Not the TAS's fault, but the game makes the enemies move sooo slow.)
Forest 'n such (again, that is actually what it's called)
The wigglers were the most fun enemy to play around with because you can make them move any direction. The 2nd player moves them up, down, and all willy-nilly.
Underground Moveage
This level is really cool because "Mario" controlls the auto scroll by moving.
Some places in the level required me to stop for a few frames, and there is no way around that. I tried multiple things, but you just can't get past that.
As mentioned above, you can glitch the buzzy bettles into the roof, which is pretty amusing.
Some castle (again, it's actually called that)
This level is really long.
Not only can the second player not control most of the enemies (believe me, I tried.) but there are so many parts in this level were you have to stop, and once again, you just can't get past it, even with TAS trickery.
This is my first completed TAS and first submission to the site, so I would like to say, hello there! I'm new here, and I understand if this doesn't get accepted.
I got interested in TASing when I first saw a TAS by sonicpacker of SM64, then I found this site, found out how to TAS, then I made this! I am really excited right now because I just completed a TAS in 3 days, working on it actively.
I am also working on a TAS that completes the bonus levels, so stay tuned for that.

EDIT: Cancelling because I found some improvements. Working on optimising this.
