Post subject: PlayStation Firmware and Game File Validity

Hey guys. Working on a PlayStation TAS right now, and I've got a couple of questions concerning validity of the TAS. 1. Using Bizhawk 2.3.1, I'm using the ps-30a.bin for the firmware. 2. For the game I'm currently working on, I can get it to play using the cue file (with the bin file of course), but with each TAS that I look up on this site, I'm seeing people using the bin file to actually play, and not the cue file. My main question is under these circumstances, would that make for a valid TAS, i.e., one that would be accepted?

Bizhawk only accepts CUEs for PSX, while other PS emulators only accept BINs. What's written in the submissions depends on that factor, and also maybe on human error, and also the hash of the BIN is more important so maybe people were just sharing that?
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

Gotcha. Maybe I missed on what kind of emulator they were using. I was just checking. I don't want to submit a PlayStation run just for it to get rejected because "you weren't using the right version" or something like that.
