I think I've come up with a faster route for the scavenger hunt, but before I really get into it I'd like to see what others think of it. After getting the Crush Boots:
  • Save below Entrance A</strike>
  • Get floodgate key [*]Quicksave/Reset (this reset does save one second from just traveling back up the passage) only in regards to previous route
  • Crouch Warp to Cavern A
  • Save in Cavern A
  • Use floodgate key
  • QuickSave/Reset (to Cavern A save)
  • Kill Death
  • Get Super Jump
  • Quicksave/Reset (Getting the Rib is moved for later, so I can save in Cavern B now, avoiding two warp sequences)
  • Warp to Cavern B
  • Save in Cavern B
  • Ger heart
  • Kill Shadow
  • Quicksave/Reset
  • Crouch Warp to Entrance B
  • Get Rib
  • Quicksave/Reset
  • Warp to Cavern A
  • Get Eye
  • Get Bracelet
  • Quicksave/Reset
  • Win

JXQ: After looking at Kaz's route again that looks fine. I'm not an expert on HoD route though. kyo3000: Link(s) doesn't work.

JXQ: 2 questions 1) Why do you not take the lure key earlier at about frame 58500? It would have saved you the backtracking time later, wouldn't it? 2) Why does the door glitch not work on the first try in some places? You seem to have to go in and out of the door and back sliding twice before getting warped... I usually don't experience such a thing when trying to glitch. kyo3000: That wasn't TASed was it? That's a nice run, considering it's an obsolete one. Ever thought of redoing one for SDA? They haven't got a HoD run to my knowledge... Just a bit of refining, eg sliding more to clear monsters, and using down+kick to travel downwards faster etc. For the last part, you could have used the saveroom to get to the final battle area faster too, which sort of puzzled me why you didn't. What impresses me though is on your selection and use of sub-weapons; that's pretty neat planning. You can execute the door glitch very well too... it usually takes me like 5 tries in and out before I nail it In any case, route-wise JXQ decided not to take the icebook, which makes the strategizing quite different from yours... The lure key is in castle B. He's in castle A around the frame you point out. The door glitch doesn't work the first time you enter a new area. The ice book isn't necessary at all since you can get about the same increased distance the ice fist gives you by backdashing off a ledge. Not getting it saves over a minute.

the "(1).avi" part still belongs to the link. Don't be lazy, just copypaste the whole line...

when u enter a new area for the first time "with the area name display and all" u cant do the glitch u have te re-enter, thats just for the first time tho. not the whole run is obsolete, just the part 2 is but it wasnt a big change, just something i screwed up in the end i dun remember it. SDA wouldnt accept my run b/c it was done on an emulator i also had a SotN run that wasnt accepted --> http://anass.essaouiratourisme.com/CvSotN_Alucard_SS_1545_Kyo3000.avi (go easy on my bandwidth lol), and this run could be faster if i new the bat wing smash extending trick. and yeah i know ur strategy is different than mine, not to mention that this's just the bad ending but i thought u could find something useful in it, dunno. but the run is nice isnt it xD, i abuse the spells' invincibility a lot lol, the door glitch works always b/c i was using auto-fire, and yeah i dunno why i didnt quick save -> reset in the end =_=!, i made this over 2 years ago now so i dun remember, i even see now that i rewatched it that i could use a save room right b4 i get the floodgate key, could've saved some time. the links above work, u just have to copy-paste the whole line not just click on em

Alrighty, I'm at the final battle. But it's way too late to finish tonight, so I'll wrap it up tomorrow after work. We'll see if someone sneaks in 1337 before then. I personally don't care :P

Heyu make sure you are getting the orbs at the end of the bosses right... you have to do the jump at hte right time to get cool!... if you swing your whip at hte right time you get EXCELLENT! If you aren't getting goods/cools/excellents, you should restart the run, for these are essentials to every HAVEATIT Harmony of Dissonance run

Getting the orbs would be a waste of time given how the doors open before they even drops. The only one he'll be getting is Dracula's.

It's possible to get the Platinum Tip without the Slyph Feather btw. You have to do the back dash off the edge and use the Ice Fist to do it; I just did it. Of course skipping the feather is not a option, but having the Tip earlier would make for a much faster Skull Knight fight. It seems like it wouldn't be worth it cause getting the Ice Book takes a minute or so to get, and you would have to backtrack to the Tip. It would require testing though.

The skull knight fight (minus pauses) is approximately 2700 frames in my run. I saved over 2500 frames on Kaz from skipping the ice book. You'd have to reduce the fight to no more than 200 frames, plus pauses.

Well, after so many months, did somebody consider trying that cool little glitch I found... ? I did it with Maxim, but Juste can perform it too with the cross subweapon. For you information, it's simple like this: Jump (or double jump or whatever, just don't touch the ground) and use the subweapon (cross); Right after the subweapon hits the target, do a drop kick; A few frames after the drop kick hits, do a normal attack. With Maxim, the shuriken is affected and can hit up to 14 times (as long as the sword animation lasts) With Juste, the whip is affected, and I didn't do many tests, but it hits around 25 times in a single attack. I tried it at the boss rush (real time + few save states), and I could kill that minotaur with 2 atacks.

Did you use this glitch in your Maxim run? If so, I completely missed it. Otherwise I haven't heard about this impressive discovery. 25 times? Man that's got to look crazy! First thing that comes to my mind is possibly skipping the Lightning book.

Yeah, I used it on Dracula Wraith. And... wow, that was fast. Long time no troll, man. Also, there's one different thing with Juste. He's completely vulnerable while he is attacking, but he won't flinch until he finishes the movement.

In the Maxim run, on the lower right side of Dracula Wraith just about as the input ends you see twelve 79's all clustered together. I missed that the first time too.

That glitch sounds pretty cool and it works with Juste! It sounds like skipping the Bolt book is a option. That would make the run look much more fluid as having to do half of that ball maze again doesn't look that great. I hope somebody (JXQ?) improves this soon!

Eh, better experiment before rushing off to redo the old route minus the bolt book. Shortcuting through the clock tower A/B front door might be worth it if devil/legion can be killed really fast, for instance. This might make subweapon launching for speed less practical since the cross is 5 hearts and has a longer animation IIRC.
