Yes, precisely. I don't know if what it sends back to the GameCube are just button presses or game-dependant messages. In the latter case it would probably be kind of hard to implement support for it.

Actually, Dolphin has support for GBA interaction. It just doesn't work with the Tingle Tuner. I've played some Four Swords adventures on dolphin another day. Also, you can use some hearts to break the hovering.

Wow, the Dolphin team just surprises me again and again. They really are one ambitious bunch of people. I'm really looking forward to a future WW run now. ^^

could this be used to leave Outset without getting on the pirate ship at the very beginning of the game? Or perhaps skip the sail in windfall island? Or, in general, could this be used to get past those annoying moments when the KoRL tells you not to go this way and turn back?
I messed around with AR to figure out what sort of things might be possible. Yes, this lets you navigate the entire ocean without the boat, including areas that are normally supposed to be blocked off. The beginning is retarded though so you still have to do all the stuff at the beginning to progress through the game. Basically, my idea was from the beginning of the game, you could superswim to Greatfish Isle to trigger the endless night, then superswim to Windfall, eavesdrop on the pirates, go on the pirate ship, do Niko's challenge and then exit at FF1, where you get the sword, then get dropped off at Windfall, where you can pick up the sail and bombs before proceeding with the rest of the game. For the most part all of this works (except possibly whether you'd be able to get the sail)... except after you do Niko's challenge, the spoils bag isn't there for some reason. Seriously, the treasure chest is just plain not there. Meaning you can't go to FF1 and progress through the game. Meanwhile, at Outset (you can savewarp back since the flag that makes you always reload on Outset never gets unset), the pirate ship is gone, for some reason the bridge leading to the forest is gone and the game freezes if you zombie hover in, meaning your file is effectively screwed if you trigger endless night too early. So I'm pretty sure the start of the game is necessary for the sword and FF1 is necessary to get KoRL since he is required later in the game... which is dumb but meh, what're you gonna do. :/ Oh and sail skip is possible and has been done on console I think, but since KoRL is necessary in a couple places it requires cruising everywhere so you're prolly better off just getting the sail.

Maybe you could use Superswim to trigger the endless event after doing FF1? With bombs early, lots of time can be saved at Dragon Roost Island by using the bombs instead of those slow flower bombs. Dragon Roost Cavern can also be entered early with bombs, although we still need a bottle to progress through this dungeon. The bottle from Bomb Island could be obtained instead.

Well, from what I know, what island ur last on ur boat will appear if you say u enter a place that needs to load or if u save and load. So you can skip to what ever island you need him at, enter some where or save n load to get him to appear at the default location.

Yeah, that should work. Just can't do it before FF1. :/

Does anyone have a savefile (.gci) after Tower of Gods? I'd like to look for a way to skip the barrier in Hyrule Castle. Wouldn't this be the best skip ever?

As far as I'm concerned, Paraxade tried this a lot of times but couldn't find a way. And he is a glitch/trick finder so I doubt it will work but better be safe and try somehow breaking the barrier using tas tools :)

ok, got a save file ready myself: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=235EL5JF How to get on the Hyrule bridge railing Barrier skip ideas and attempts Wind waker diving at 0 HP Based on these videos I tried for many hours but got nothing useful... Some information I gathered: - You can't go above the barrier, zombie hovering just doesn't make it high enough. - The barrier doesn't go very low, but you need to bypass a "fall into pit" trigger, which can only be done by falling off the railing while using the Wind Waker. - You can be falling while using the Wind Waker while being pushed off by a bomb (by walking towards it, or when taking damage and getting up). However, stopping the dive will cause the barrier to hit Link for some reason... - To avoid this hit, you need to get "inside" the barrier by taking damage and walking towards the barrier, then using the Wind Waker. If pushed off when in this state, you won't take the random barrier hit. - I didn't manage to do what happened in the 3rd video yet..

That "some reason" is that any damage at all, or leaving the inside of the barrier cancels out the knockback cancel on the barrier. Also, theoretically, you can Zombie Hover over the barrier, but since you need to take damage to start a zombie hover, you would end up canceling out the knockback cancel as a result. Currently, what would need to be done to pull off barrier skip, is taking damage to kill yourself, then canceling out the barrier with the Wind Waker at the same time as you Wind Waker dive, all at once before you die. This currently isn't possible, because in order to cancel out the barrier's knockback, you have to pull out the Wind Waker right as your invincibility frames end, and you die long before then. As far as spending the invincibility frames somewhere goes, bringing up a regular text box can run them down. However, every text box you can bring up in the area lasts too long (even the Tingle Tuner) and completely misses the window you need to cancel out the barrier's knockback. Of course, this is pretty irrelevant, as after the text box is gone, you still die immediately with no window for any actions. If you used the text box to dive off the ledge instead, you still die from the void and can't do anything about it, as text boxes don't halt your fall distance into a void like the Wind Waker does. So far only the Wind Waker is known to do that. If you want testing to be easier, or want to test if Forest Water could help (though it'd be pretty sad if it required it, as then Light Arrow skip wouldn't be able to be done, forcing more item collection), I spliced some codes together a while back, figured I should share.

I tried this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKK_iLhc42I It doesn't matter which direction Link faces since he always turns away from the barrier when using the Wind waker... Am I not far enough into the barrier? Why do you say it is currently not possible? I was thinking, as long as you are inside the barrier and use the wind waker before getting knocked back, you're fine... Also, I tried your D-Pad right code but it doesn't work for me. I just entered it into the appropriate Dolphin text file, I don't know what I could have done wrong. EDIT: Silly me, I had cheats disabled. EDIT2: Dolphin throws up an error message when using AR codes, so I can't use cheats for testing for now. EDIT3: Got cheats working, but not every code in the list works... And your codes don't work either...

Yeah, Link turning around is a problem too. The invisible wall is still a wall, so it makes Link turn away from it. Well, the problem is, once you're down and past the point where the barrier ends, you can get past it, sure, but you can't get anywhere from there. You're way too far down. That's where Zombie Hovering comes in, and why it's necessary. As far as the codes go, I'm a complete moron and pasted the PAL ones I made for someone else. Here are the NTSC ones.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHj7-Dj0BAg By walking leftwards off the railing and then using your 0 Hearts cheat code, I managed to zombie hover over the barrier. Too bad there doesn't seem to be a way to take damage while keeping inside the barrier...

The problem isn't staying in the barrier, it's that any damage at all cancels out the knockback cancel. The knockback barrier actually extends out to the entire map outside that cylinder, so even after you get past the wall, you'll still get smacked around unless you cancel it out. Also, I just thought I'd mention, the code you're using to make all the buttons turbo makes you rise at a rate that isn't actually possible outside of Action Replay. I know you're just testing, but I just felt I should say something.

But there's no way you can cancel the knockback out while having zero health. Does even fire damage or falling damage cancel it out? Also, what happens if you fall into the void infinitely?

Yep, that's why we're stumped as to how this would be done. With what we currently have available, I don't think it's going to happen. Yes, any kind of damage cancels it out. I figure it would just keep going, but I suppose you could just leave the game on overnight and see if there's some eventual end or if it crashes.

Getting hit at the same frame as canceling the knockback doesn't work either.. As for falling into the void, Link starts shaking after some minutes, as if there's an invisible wall or something...

What makes you say this? Afaik zombie hovering has no height restrction. The only problem is that you can't start a zombie hover inside the damage field (barrier is realy not the correct word for it), since it will spit you back out if you take damage in it.

I was saying this in light of the horizontal limitations. You can't zombie hover out of the area that's surrounded by the barrier. You will get hit at some point due to your slight forward movement. If we could zombie hover against the barrier without getting knocked back, we could do it however.

Well yeah and you will get hit, since the damage "barrier" has a ceiling, d'ah. Like I said it's more a field that fills out the entire map, save the little bubble the castle is in. Has nothing to do with how high zombie hover can go, however.

Ok, guess even if we didn't have those horizontal limitations, we wouldn't make it. I understand the problem about the "random hit" better now.

Small update. Some new information about Light Arrow skip I thought I'd share. -Going into the Puppet Ganon battle will crash the game if you are anywhere before Hyrule 2. -Going into the Puppet Ganon battle will not crash the game once you're in Hyrule 2, even if you do EMS and completely skip Hyrule 1. You do not even need to take Tetra into the chamber. -Going into the Puppet Ganon battle will give you the fully charged Master Sword and Mirror Shield, for whatever reason.
