This video came out not too long ago: Link to video It has 7 acts as of writing this, and I'm having a hard time telling if its an NES ROM WIP or some PC game made to look like an NES game. I recall years ago, some prototype was made using that engine. It was available for download(not sure if it is anymore). I'll have to find it again. Its outdated though, and that above video might be an enhanced remake of the 2005 version. In almost every video, they're asking for a download link. And because not all the videos are up, maybe they will release it once its finished. The latest one came out like 2 days ago.

It says in the description that it is a PC game. Didn't expect otherwise; this is too good to be a NES/FC ROM. Edit: Also ファミコン風 means Famicom-style which is a big indicator that the game is a PC game; if it were a NES/FC ROM, "Famicom-style" would not be the selling point.

Oh. I figured. Anyhow, I found the prototype battle system: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/66683873316799121 The rom that I used had to be downloaded as there's no other way of getting it. The battle is not optimized, I wasn't even sure if it can be beaten. Was playing under uncertainty. I may redo it putting more work into it.
